Re: Frustration

I feel your pain, I have a buick that hasn't moved for about six months and I'm about to buy a syclone without a motor. All the frustration, time, and money you have invested won't matter though once you're able to drive it again.

Re: Frustration

What the other guy said is so true - you won't get motivated unless you HAVE to. My Sy sat for a year with the cover on it while I rode the motorcycle everywhere, always making excuses about not having enough money for the parts and what not. Well, I rode through winter of 2004 with nothing but a motorcycle and when the summer was coming to an end, I thought I had better get the Sy running ASAP since it's my only vehicle other than the bike. Didn't want to freeze my ass off through another winter on the bike. It took a lot of money and many weeks of wrenching on the MF, but let me tell you when it's done, you'll be one happy camper.

Here's something else to think about: the first time you rip out the tranny, motor, and whatever else, it's going to be a bitch, but once you've done it once, it should be cake doing it again down the road. I hate lying under a dash or motor all day and cursing just as the much as the next guy, but you have to bite the bullet and get busy 'cause the truck won't fix itself. Now, just picture yourself at Tom's SyTy party this summer showing off your sweet Ty with the rest of the trucks...that should do the trick!

Re: Frustration

Uh yeah, the last registration sticker on my Sy was from 2000. That's how long mine has been sitting.

yeah, i see where your coming from.i'm glad i bought my s-10 for now, that way i don't have to put so many miles on it. i would have been easier to work on the ty if i had it in the garage, but thats my parents corvette home. once i get the ty towed over to the shop, it will be easier to work on it.

one of my questions still wasn't answered,"should i remove the front clip to ease with pulling the motor out of the front?"

There's like 6 bolts holding the core support on, pull it off and your life will be much easier... fenders help but aren't neccesary
