Well like I said, I would keep everyone updated, so here it is.

After 18 days from the second failure, multiple phone calls, 3-mails and the removal of 2 more front diffs later.......we agreed on a refund of $207.32.
Yes, I know its a random number, but that total is basically 4/5ths of the labor and the cost of the seal that was installed wrong and needs to be replaced.

At this point Im probably going to leave the front diff out of my truck since I had planned to take it off the road at the end of the summer anyway, Ill just continue with the 2WD mode for the next 2 months and change the transfercase fluid regularly instead. :D

kudos for getting them to agree on a refund. at least that makes up for a little bit of the headache.

yep, basially what it comes down to at this point is, I paid for is the parts and $50 to press the new bearings on, so I can live with that.

that sucks, but on another note. you need to take the axle apart. all you need is the piece of the axle that bolts to the hub. if you do not put that part back in your wheel will fall of. good luck getting the clips.

Yes, I'm bringing this thread back to life...

sk43, what does the axle do that holds the wheel on? I thought the hubs on these trucks were sealed, similar to the 4th gen F-bodies.

Sounds like Morgan ran his truck around like that too. Any problems you encountered doing that, Morgan?

its like a fwd car set up. axle goes in the hub. with out the axle in front. your wheel would fall off.
most people who make there 4x4 s-10s 2wd. take the axle apart. and just install the outer part of the axle in the hub to hold the wheel on.

My syclone is done this way. After I broke a front axle i just took the other side apart, removed the diff, and front propshaft. That was 1K miles ago. Someday i will put it all back together.
