Ford wheels?

I don't know much about the offsets, bolt pattern and center bore stuff in general so I figured i'd ask.

I have a chance it pickup a clean set of 17x9 Saleen Stern wheels and was wondering if I could put them on the Syclone. It'd be different from my zr1s and i've always liked the look of these wheels plus being black with a machined lip really helps :)

Here's what I know about them measurement wise ...

BOLT PATTERN - 5X114.3mm (5x4.5inches)
OFFSET - +24mm
CENTER BORE - Im guessing is 70.3

Thanks in advanced... and this is what they look like but black

Not gonna work buddy, the offset is too low. Yeah the bolt pattern is wrong, but that could be fixed with a set of adapters, that will inturn cause them to stick out even farther then they already will. If the offset was higher, way higher it could be done :myclone:

so what kind of backspacing would I be looking for? I already have 17x9 zr1 wheels all the way around but have 1.25" spacers in the back to bring them up to the cladding but have no idea what the rims are offset wise

How much are the Stern wheels going for? They would look good on my fox.

actually looking on ebay looks like they are reproducing the wheels but the price is allot less :)

Re: Ford wheels?

Let me tell you a story about putting Ford parts on a GM. My buddy bought a Chevy S-10 from me. It was a nice truck that I completely Shaved and repainted. His family is a big Ford Family. His dad worked for Ford for over 20 years. So he drives his new truck over to his cousins house and his cousin puts a big oval blue Ford emblem right in the middle of the shaved tailgate. I told him that if he didn't remove the emblem I was going to take the truck back. (He thought it was funny or cool) He didn't listen to me. So he decided to move to the west coast. He was driving through some small town and a cop pulled him over. The cop said the reason he pulled him over was that he had a Ford emblem on a Chevy truck. (Cop was a GM guy). That set off a chain of events that put him in jail and got his truck impounded. The lesson to be learned is didn't put any Ford parts on a GM vehicle.

That guy sounds like a complete tool and not what I was atempting to do.. I've owned three mustangs, a thunderbird an f150 but I not I have common sense.. I was merely seeing if this style wheel would fit our trucks since they were always among my favorites on the ssc saleens

Good to know. That guy who bought my truck has all good intentions and is a nice guy but sometimes his elevator doesn't go to the top floor and sometimes it skips floors all together. If you can get the correct adapters they would work but depending on the spacing. It's all about karma!

hahah I gotcha man. I was looking at a adaptors when I posted this thread. it seems the rear wouldn't be bad but the front wouldn't work because of the positive offsets (41mm WTF) so the wheels would stick out and be totally gay ..... unless you have another solution or idea :)

Heh, I just ordered a set of those Stern knockoffs for my mustang. Too bad they don't fit the Sy, they would look badass I think, especially the version with the black centers.

Even with the correct adapters, they would stick out so far in the front, I bet they would rub on the back of the fender bad, and If the truck's lowered at all, well you could probably go straight fine

Nope, I've had trouble getting wheels to fit S-10's 4wd and 2wd ( until recently ) since they decided to start building these pieces of crap
