electrical system question

Does anyone know where the heck the master ground for the fusebox and/or dashboard gauge cluster is? I've been having this stupid bad ground problem for a couple years now and my temporary fix has stopped working again. I really don't want to pull the dash apart again as it basically doesn't go back together anymore. So does anyone have any idea where the ground wires are so I can fix/replace/half-ass another repair?

Look at the bolt right above the emergency brake pedal that holds the lower corner of the dash to the bracket welded to the kick panel of the cab. Least thats where the IP ground was on my 86 S-10.

I am not 100% positive, but look up to where the accelerator pedal side of the metal "pedal frame" is, and there should be a bracket mounted to this frame with a few black wires on it. I think that you will find that the 91,92 and 93 sy/tys cluster's and other dash systems are grounded there. Yes the earlier s-10's were grounded on the bolt that attaches the dash above the e-brake pedal, but, these are not s-10's.... actually, they are t-15's.... But if you did ask about a pre 1989 s/t series with flickering inst lights and such, this ground above the parking brake pedal is where you would first look for a problem, thanks.... I can email you a wiring diagram if you need it..., Steve.

hey thanks alot guys! I checked the bolts you said and sure enough the one by the E-brake was loose and wobbly. Tightened it down and everything seems ok so far :D
