Electrical interferance causing KS to Knock??

Has any ever looked at the possibility of the KS wire picking up electrical interferance from other sources cause scan tools and ECMs to register KR?? Acoording to my collage teacher, there very prone to that. Spark plug wires and bad altenators can cause a magnetic interferance and cause a voltage in the KS wire, resulting in false knock. On crank and cam sensors, some manufactures wrap a thin grounded wire along the length of the signal wire to eliminate this problem. Im going to be doing a few tests to see if this may be possible in our situation. Any suggestions/feedback....Fern Sy#477

BTDT. I went to a local Motorola Radio service and asked for some shielded wire. They gave me some. Make sure you only ground one end.

It helps eliminate electrical and mechanical noise supposedly.

yes, ground it at the point of transmission, IE, the sensor... keep from running the sensor wire parallel to plug wires/high load power wires ect. Also check for loose accesory mounting brackets... A rod knocking in the a/c compressor can also send a knock signal...
