Code 59 Partially Open.

Ok, the website is 85% complete. There is still some documentation to work on, minor details etc.

Instead of just opening it up to a big rush though, we have decided it will be best to hand select the first few people. We are busy working on documentation, and other stuff and don't want to be tied down to answering a bunch of should I say Newbee questions right now. As I have mentioned and many others have also, don't wait for $59 to get started tuning.

This is a project being given away for free. Expect to get your monies worth in tech support (read in don't expect anything). Of course we will help if we can, but answering a question like "what do I need to get?" is something you should be able to figure out on your own.

ANY and ALL code59 users are required to read and agree to this:

License For Use of Code59 Software and Tools

1. This binary image may be distributed freely. Any modifications of this binary image must also be distributed freely. The authors reserve the right to post any code59-based binaries found in the wild to this forum. All submissions to the code59 project become the property of the project.
2. Binaries based on code59 may not be bundled as part of any commercial product.

3. A for-profit Tuner may use code59 in a target vehicle, with the following provisions:
a) The tuner must register with site admins as a code59 tuner.
b) The vehicle owner will be made aware that the binary is freely available through this site.
c) The for-profit Tuner must also post the resulting finished binary to this forum.

4. The authors reserve the right to post any code59-based binaries found in the wild to this forum.

5. The authors reserve the right to request a copy of any binary based on this file. Failure to provide a copy will result in loss of access to the code and the forums.

6. Any violation of the above will result in denial of access for all of the code59 forums.

Again this is a free project with a lot of time spent developing and testing. If you don't agree with the rules above, no need to switch to $59. We are giving away our hard work to help others, and will rely on others to honour this. If we find people are violating this, we can just stop a lot of the new features we have planned. (like 2 stage launch control)

So if you have the equipment in hand ready to tune, have a running truck that needs tuning, and can and will provide feedback and help answer questions as they come up then post here why you want to be in the first wave of testers. The team will then decide and send you links to where to get the goods. (basically if you don't need your hand held to tune, let us know)

I love the philosophy behind this project.. I hate it when people try to keep something a secret and make money off of it.. This is great.. Thanks for all of your, and everyone else's, work!!

A couple of clarifications...

"this forum" in the text above means the code59 forums. We're not going to be going over $59-related things much in the SyTy forum. One forum to keep up with and support is enough.

You don't have to be a truck to be an early adopter. Odd-ball uses of the code in other vehicles is encouraged. The main thing is that you already have the equipment, are wanting to tune, and are willing to contribute what you learn in your tunes back to the group. Everybody wins that way.

I am willing to help where I can and I won't bombard you guys with questions

Syclone -Mods Planning Later Vortec long block, 50# injectors, PTE 61, A2A and Alky.
Tuning Equipment - Prom Burner/EE Prom's/ROMulater, Tuner Pro, Tuner Cat, Promgrammar, Diacom, DIY WB02 and shortly a PLX WB02.
Why- I am hoping to have my truck up, running, and start tuning by the end of April. Because of the changes my engine (diiferent Cam/turbo/heads/alky) I will need to change quite a bit for it to run properly. I would prefer to start in $59 vs tuning this combo in code $58 and then later converting to $59.

Stock motor, Stock injectors, Ostrich, G1, LC-1 WBo2, 3 BAR MAP, Modded 20g, Walbro 255, AFPR, 3000 stall convertor, Greddy Profec B Spec II boost controller, 100% A/C delete, Abs delete, 3-4 "Z-Pack", 3"exhaust catback, CAT delete,no muffler, E-Fan, ShurFlo, fender IC lines and lots of relocated parts. Learning to tune!

I have Tuner Pro RT and Datamaster, LC-1 wideband with the XD-16 gauge, Greddy Profec B sSpec II EBC, Laptop, ALDL, Log Works, GP1 package, burner being ordered very soon and the Ostrich.

I want Code 59 for a few reasons.
1. I want to be able to help others and hopefully be a step ahead by the time it is released.
2. I want to start learning Code 59 before the race season so that I dont have to transition half way through.
3. I want the best quality tuning tools for my truck as I feel it deserves only the best.
4. I have been getting a lot of tuninig experience in $58 and even thoguh I am not a pro at it yet I feel I am ready for 59 as the only thing I really dont have down yet is timing.
5. Ild also like to have it with the thought in mind that the KILL section may have a few more impressive races in it.
6. Again, would look forward to helping others out when the time comes.

On a side note, I have been chomping at the bits for this to come out. The features are very entycing and I think its a milestone in automotive performance for people on a budget like me. I cant imagine the time and work it has taken to put this together. Wheather I get it now or not Im just going to say thank you for doing this for everyone guys, hopefully you will recieve some kind of prize or recognition.

Re: Code 59 Partially Open.

PM's have been sent to those requesting access.

Those playing with code 59 and have access now, try to keep technical questions, basically any 59 issues in the 59 forums you have the link to. Feel free to post any general notes, and keep the rest of the syty group updated here if you want. Just know the team will be answering any tech questions on the 59 forums and not here.

Hopefully with the first batch of testers we will get a much broader base of starting bins for people to use, verify all the hard work that has been on the project already, and maybe even add some new features here very soon.

Re: Code 59 Partially Open.

Jeff,

This is so awesome that it has finally come around.

I have a lot left to learn before I am tuning for myself but i am very interested in running the $59 as well.

* Name: Jason Granger
* Truck, mods: L35 heads, ported upper & lower, 1.6 rollers, 50# (soon to be added), 52mm ported TB, 20G w/puck knocked out, 3" DP w/race dump, KB A/A, SMC Alky inj, I'm sure there's more...
* Tuning equipment you have: Ostrich, DIY WB, Misc Gauges, Laptop w/TunerproRT & Datamaster
* Why do you want $59: spread the word, share the glory, get a tune that fits my odd ball build and parts, continuous ability to tweak and learn more about drivability, support my bros

No rush on getting me a BIN to start, but access to the forum to do the up front research would be nice.

Name - Rob Putman
Truck, mods -Basically a brand new, rebuilt Sy. 40lb injectors, 160 degree thermo, KB Street chip, Johnson IC pump, shift kit in tranny, 3" cat back exhaust. Doing IC reroute this weekend.
Tuning equipment you have - Full suite from Detroit Turbo on order w/PLX wideband, laptop, AutoXray5000. APR AFPR on order from RPM.
Why do you want $59 - 1.) I'm a newbie and want to learn. 2.)I'm very good at documenting, so hopefully the way in which I log my progress will help others. 3.) I'm afraid that my KB 'street' chip is a ticking time-bomb, and I want to save my Sy. 4.) I work with a bunch of gearheads who've done this stuff a million times (ricecakes :) ), and they're willing to help me. 5.) I work in a business that does a lot of software code writing, and reverse-engineering of automotive databus networks. So, I've got a lot of gearheads around me, that also know how to write code... since I'm their boss I can make SyTy slaves out of them, and hopefully provide some really good feedback to the group! :D

Re: Code 59 Partially Open.

NOTE: Those that were invited so far and register on code59, if you change your user name for the forum, you will need to post here what you changed it to.

Keep in mind, everybody will eventually be getting access, we are just trying to make sure things don't get overloaded at first.

If you find the site and register, it won't do you much good, as all members must be approved.

Truck, mods: 92 Typhoon, Forged and hardened bottom end, partial filled block, four-bolt, bowtie aluminum heads, ported heads, plenum and intake, GT35R, Comp Custom semi-aggressive cam, 75#ers, custom headers, DP and exhaust, TiAL 44mm WG, TiAL BOV, Alky.

Tuning equipment you have: TunerPro, laptop, ALDL interface, Romulator, DM

Why do you want $59: I'm almost finished with my build, and need some way to tune my other-than-bolt-on setup. I'm not quite to the point of tuning yet, but would like to familiarize myself with the software and whatnot. I also have the support of some brilliant guys here at TiAL. Some who've been tuning one-off boosted applications for 20+ years, as well as SBC guys. I don't anticipate needing a lot of technical assistance from the $59 crew.
