check the fluid level and consitency in your front differential.... any shavings? is there a resonating pitch that changes or becomes more profound as you accelerate?? a higher pitch at higher rpms?
also check and make sure your wheels are torqued down properly... If they aren't... it can cause the wheel to make a clunk sound.. or cause one or more of the wheel studs to break off....

well it depends if you can rebuild it yourself really cheap or buy one from a junkyard or another SYTY owner or off a 4x4 s-10, s-10 blazer, t-15 jimmy, 4x4 sonaoma or a diff off a bravada (only if you change the 3.73 gears back to 3.42's) If you need a new tube shaft then you can get one off the right hand side of any the listed above and replace the one on your left side. If you buy one a shop will most likely charge you around $300-$400 for labor alone to install.

Look into the cost of doing it yourself. If its enough of a diff try it yourself. If you f it up, theres only so much damage you can do.

Get someone's help. Get some phone numbers. Theres enough knowlegable people willing to share out there.

Its all about time constraints and funding after that.

(wish i was at the position where I could pay people to do shit instead of having to bust my knuckles or watch the ABS light for 3 months)
