was there not a petition going around to stop cash or clunkers because it hurts the collectors hobby? oh wait you have to get enough ppl to give a shit. i bet there are a lot of nice car getting junked. story in my local paper of a lot housing the clunkers had a nice 5.0 Fox body in the lot. ppl are too lazy to sell cars, this clunker crap is making it too easy. oh well our values will start going up because now there is at least 1 less, i bet a few tys might meet their demies also

There was a petition going around the Florida junkyards about this i think....the guy was saying how the cars had to be crushed therefore not allowing them to sell the parts, us to get them and hurting the salvage industry. I wonder what ever happened to that petition Harmon and I signed??

66,748 miles. In fair condition. Looked to be mostly stock. A few Kenne Bell bolt ons. What a shame that someone felt they had to CfC it.:tdown:

by law the only things that cannot be saved is the engine and trans, and the "chassis" everything else can be removed find a salvage yard who will buy it they can hold the truck for 6 months till it has to be crushed

That truck is done guys. It's my understanding that once its in the system it can't even leave the dealer until the engines been destroyed.

That explains all the youtube vids of people PURPOSEFULLY destroying engines in decent cars!!! ---

Wow, and people thought this was a joke. Guess it wasn't after all. If anyone knows the real details to how this cash for clunkers work please PM me. I have a 1987 Dodge Lancer that is a shit pile. I would like to turn it in. The thing is, I don't want a brand new car. Can you get something that was leased before. Say, maybe a 2006 Honda Civic or something?

Has to be less than 25 yrs old, get 18mpg or worse, and be insured and registered for at least a year. Has to be a new car purchase or lease though.

ok.. nats was in KY. and ithis truck was literally about an hour or so away from us, in NATS. so we should of stopped by, after NATS and just stole the car..lol

trust me there was talk of loading up toolboxes and driving to Louisville around 3am saturday night!

If anyone can get an in at one of the dealers we may be able to pull some parts before they go to the crusher.

Either way, makes me sick to think they are going to destroy these trucks for no good reason other then free obama money.

I know 1 thing is for sure, come the next election I will be voting for sure, I don't care if Jimmy is running for president I won't be voting for the same president.

Our country got into issues because most families were in over their head in debt and now we as a country feel we can solve it by getting the country into debt. Its stupid.
