PI makes a tripple disk that's real nice too, and it's quite a bit cheaper. Don't skimp on the lockup clutch though. I know TCI has some real garbage out there. When they go out, they take everything else with it. A stock 80E converter can be stalled up higher by playing with the timing and sitting on it a long time while staging. Sure it builds a ton of heat, but it can be done. PI will re-stall it for free within a year if you're not happy with it. That's worth some peace of mind too given your unique setup.

PI's triple disk is about $950. Their SINGLE disk is $650. Their 5 disk is almost $1150.
If you see a "cheap" PI, it's a single disk. You don't want a 9.5" single disk convertor in a turbocharged 4000 pound vehicle.

Yeah, the triple disk is considerably cheaper than the five disk. 200 bones is almost a 20% difference. $950 is cheap for a custom spec lockup converter IMO. I'm used to the Neal Chance price range. I wasn't talking about the single disk, and I didn't even know they still made them. :roll: Triple disks hold up just fine though in the fullsize truck world. If you tow though, that's a different story.

It's tough because most websites do $695 and just say "PI 9.5"
Then guys call me upset because I'm charging too much.
Rule of thumb is if over 5000 Pounds or 1000HP, go 5 clutch.
Under that, go three.
A single disc isn't really worth it but, yeah, they still got em.
