Brake warning light grounds (anybody got a service manual?)

Okay...I've done quite a bit of volt-metering, and have come up with the following on my 92 Ty's ever-lit brake light.

1. Disconnecting the brake warning light wire from the proportioning valve does not eliminate the light.

2. The warning light switch is not "closed", or providing a ground. So my brakes are fine.

3. The emergency brake is not providing a ground for the light.

My question is...what other sources of ground does the light have? I don't have a service manual, so I can't tell. My suspicion would be the ABS computer as the "third" ground...but I'm not sure? Could anybody look and see what are the "official" sources of ground to turn on the "BRAKE" warning light?

There are 4 ways the light will light, ebrake ground, hydraulic system (not abs) related, abs should turn on light for 2 or 3 seconds as a system check, if light stays on the abs may have a problem, tan/white wire #33 from abs . I hope this helps. you may have to pull abs codes to find out what is happening.

The quick way would be to unplug both abs electrical connectors on the unit under the hood.... It won't screw anything up and sometimes will reset the abs system. There is a pic posted on the board here somewhere of the connectors...

Brake light fixed...at least part of it

Brake light fixed...at least part of it

I unplugged one of the two "multi-pin" connectors on the ABS unit, the only one I could find a tan/white wire on...and the light went out.

I had unplugged the red/black one from the ABS unit before...and the ABS light went off, but the BRAKE light stayed on. So I'm at least temporarily fixed...at least the lights aren't glaring in my face now.

Thanks for all of the help! I'll find out what codes the ABS is whining about, and post my results later!
