Bowling Green, Kentucky

Re: Bowling Green, Kentucky

BG has to be one of the nicest tracks to have events. The GS nats and the sy/ty nats should be together. There were 2 syclones the made a few apperences there last year and the one truck went 10.6 and if you seen the truck it was like a show piece.

I don't know if lassiter will go for having both events combined. If he does i/ sure he will have some gooffy ass rules regarding the racing/show. Not unless he is going to let someone else run the sy/ty group events.

I don't know first hand but I have heard through the buick land that the GS nats is full of a lot of politics. Something I would hope and make sure syty land doesn't get brought into or thrust ourself into.

As a buick owner also I wouldn't have an issue, but I would have an issue with a bunch of politics, hurt feelings etc. I like to think of syty land as a big family with any differences kept to a minimum.

Buick guys have a lot of classes with rules that seem to fester some problems. Our classes are far less strict and setup more for fun, than a true competition.

I know its not going to get many people excited but If it goes down in KY i'll probably make it out depending on the dates etc. Heck might even actually have a running turbo truck or two.

I've seen some of what you describe... there are a lot of factions in the Buick camps. Not that we don't have them, but we're a lot smaller, so it's not as big of a deal. We also attempt to avoid the confrontational situations.

I like our "Backyard BBQ" feel.

i have been going to the gs nats for a few yrs and it's full of politics like you mentioned above. I have seen it in action over the yrs. that is why there is the other buick racing event called BPG that is peeps tired of the polotic of Richard Lassiter and his crew.

I'm not a GSCA member and don't plan on ever being one dude to some of the crap that the local NC chapter has done and the national chapter. back in 2005 i drove my car there and i was going to race/test and tune but i couldn't due to the fact i was not a GSCA member. even tho i was there in my buick. to become a gsca member and race for the weekend was gonna cost me 300 bucks umm no sir!

I think it's a great idea to have both events together as long as the sy/ty camp is run by a sy/ty peeps and the rules are set by them same peeps.

When i went to KC2000 i was that there was not any polotics involved and hte sy/ty camp was just a friendlier bunch of peeps.

sorry to rant

Re: Bowling Green, Kentucky

i can assure everyone that as long as i'm involved with the NATS no politics are going to come into play. One huge reason that we continue to not join up with other groups is so that we write our own rules.

That last thing we as a group need to be involved in is another group's drama.

I have never raced at BG. I am sure there are favorites. I own 2 buicks and 1 sy. After a day or so I would like to see more than one type of turbo vehicle. Either way BG is a nice place.

Screw politics! i'm excited to meet some syty owners, bullshit a little and drink some beer. I haven't made it to one of these larger functions yet, but everyone i know that has gone says they are a blast.

Joe,
I've had a LOT of good nights while at the NATS but
that night was BETTER.
Christina is welcome to cum along, she'd make a
great wing woman.

Looking forward to what ever we get to do; always a
good time with the SyTy group.

Later - Dabney
