another option i'm considering is an AN fitting neck:

from what little research i've done, they come in -16 and -20. Obviously this is a tad thinner than our gaping hole stocker line...is there goign to be any adverse affects from running a thinner diameter line? Whats the recommended size?

Is this a track only truck or highway driver? If you use a small hose like that then you may not want a thermostat. There is a washer systm that will slow down the flow of the water, but to slow and won't cool it off the engine enough, too fast and the water won't cool down enough in the radiator. There is a fine line between the 2. :2cents:

If you want to get real siencey about it, have a flow test done on the houseing with stat and intake and compare it to your new idea to see the differance. :2cents:

Check these out Mike. One is set up for -16AN and the other one has a 1.25" for the hose connection and not 1.5" like every other place sells. The 1.25" would fit our stock hose much better.

All good ideas. I think you have to be careful to maintain flow to prevent hot spots which could turn into either a burnt valve or a cracked head. :2cents:

Cant find the neck I want so ill post here, im lookin for a neck that has the fitting for water temp sensor, got tired of having my temp gauge laying around, any help please.

Where did you buy that sensor, mine is not even close to that but I like your set up, also did the tool u use to make the whole included wit the sensor or can I find it at cholozone, thanks Don.

I did a -20AN setup on my with a thermastat. Everything works fine. I also use electric pumps on both truck. What most people don't realize is the both the Meziere and the CSR pumps only flow through a 3/4" ID opening even though they have a larger OD flange on them.

You will not like the price of the fittings and hose of a -20AN setup though. I have over $180 in my upper not including the $100 neck.

FYI...That Summit swivel piece a couple of threads back is a nice piece for $55....

That sensor came with the gauge. Auto Meter. The hole is just drilled the correct size for a 1/4 pipe tap. 1/4 or 3/8 being the most common. Generally the sensor and the gauge need to match to get the correct readings.
