This project started years ago before i blew up the stock block motor. I have posted some pics of parts that have arrived here and there but i wanted one place for members to view the progress. There is a bit of history how i got here!!
I have had alot going on in the last 4 years, Buying a new building for Auto Addictions Inc.Getting settled in and set up. Opening Auto Addictions Auto Sales Division as well as renovating our second building a 3000 sq shop we intend to open for Auto Repair in the fall.
Having said that the Bowtie project has been on and off since most of my cash has been tied up in my business.
My goal was to build they Fastest/Quickest AWD Typhoon retaining the V6 engine. I had no idea at the time just how fast the stock block Iron headed set up would go. By the time i started compiling parts for the Bowtie engine, i was running 10.70s on the stocker.
I have since rebuilt the original stock block combo and made some improvements. I was only able to make about 20 passes before # 1 cylinder collapsed eating a piston and rod and snapping the crank. However it did go faster every pass witch got me to a 10.27@136. My tune was good, the data looked perfect ,she just didnt like the cylinder pressure and the .40 overbore didnt help. Looking back I should of Hard Blocked it to the water jackets!! It quit on me at the 1000ft mark and the time slip showed it was going its fastest pass ever my 1/8th mile was 109.6. Most definitely a 9 sec pass. Oh well thats racing i guess.
I did build another stock block setup with a few more tricks not sure if its going into my Syclone or another Typhoon. Engine is nearly done !! More to come on that!
I will post pics here of parts previously gathered for the Bowtie project and future assembly pics. I wont speak of how fast it will go but because the proof is in the slips..
Here are some pics of fully assembled long block. Minus the accessories. My next step is to drop it back in the truck and mock up the Alt, Power Steering, Vac pump and crank trigger.
Next will be motor plate fitment. here is some shots of completed long block.
