The vette would definately only be a summer driver and not alot of good roads to enjoy it even in the nice weather. I think that even if I keep the vette I'll get a Ty at some point but would probably have to go with a standard Jimmy 4x4 for the first couple of winters.....But I'm thinking of just saying screw it and getting rid of the vette and buying the much Cheaper Ty....It would break my heart as the Z06 is my dream car, but I've always wanted a Ty too, and the prices are pretty reasonable now.
What are your thoughts? I know this is a Ty forum and you love your trucks but I'm trying to decide on waiting and keeping the vette driving a junker or selling the vette and getting a Ty and saving a crapload of money.....

Damn you guys got me thinking I should pick up a beater like an old K5 or Bronco...But how am I going to get the wife into letting me get a Typhoon for another summer car if I do that??????? Maybe I'll just tell her if she doesn't let me I'm going to start pestering her about a crotch rocket...that might do it

I'm not sure if there is something wrong with my blower motor or these things just have weak motors stock but the only thing I've been in with a weaker blower motor was my old 69 Firebird. If Ty blower motors are like what's in my Sy you'd never get it to heat up in the winter. Maybe others can chime in on this?
My truck blows hot enough air, just not enough of it to keep a vehicle warm in Fairbanks. Hell, my truck wouldn't stay warm there and it doesn't have nearly the interior space to heat up compared to a Sy.

I would keep the vette. Get a Ty, and buy a $1500 beater.

FWIW, I used to drive my 69 Firebird around Fairbanks in the winter, I was 18 and always freezing my ass off as it just wouldn't heat up but I did get a ton of looks (traction was a huge issue) and it started far easier than most cars due to the MSD ignition.

So is there a group of Sy/tys that hang out in Portland area? I'd love to get to take a look at some and talk to the owners... You ever make it the Friday night drags at Woodburn I'm going to try and make it either this Friday or next...
