I guess that's why Marty is not a betting man. He made an assumtion that the drivers side would fit and they don't. Assurances were made that they'd fit without being tested and they don't. And I sent an extra $5.00 for stainless and received black oxide bolts. Please explain how this will be remedied.

From what I can see looks good. You will want to verify alternator clearance, maybe AC.

Also how is the bottom to seal? Stock has a o-ring, just curious.

???

well i just got back from watching my lil brother graduate from ft benning and it looks as though i have a few pissed cutomers. well we have two options.... i will have another d side cover made and sent out to you or you can send both back and i will refund your $$$$$.... i apologize. i tried in every way to fabricate quality covers.i will fix this problem. if you feel like these covers are just pieces of shit and you do not want them....send them back. if not i will fix the problem and have the drivers side out this week. once again " if you are not 100% satisfied with your covers i will refund all of your hard earned money" i have said this from day one....if you would like for me to fix the problem i will. from looking at the pics it won't take much to fix this. let me know what you want me to do. my cell is 1-803-924-7051...it is turned on.

Yep, this is the thing people forget sometimes about developing new parts.

No offence - Chris and i talked about the possible clearence issue at great length. Chris was going to remove a little from the D-Side to allow for the Alternator.

PS - IF this is a great Dissappointment in your life, I would hate to see when something real happens in your life.

Re: alum fabricated valve covers ( now with pics )

thanks guys for your patience.... i will get all of you a new d-side cover out on mon -tue....then we will worry about sending the non fitting cover back ... ( i will take care of shipping ).....let me fix this problem first.

those who are not satisfied please send the covers back..i will give you a refund.. and pay to have them sent back to me. i do not want anyone dissatisfied.

Got that right. This is the very reason I will NEVER manufacture anything for the syty community. We have virtually NO aftermarket support for these trucks. Someone tries to produce something, there is some fitament issues and this is the "thanks" he gets??? This isn't the first time this has happened on here and it won't be the last. I hope all the other folks out there who are thinking about such an endeavor are taking notes how "no good deed goes unpunished".

I applaud Chris for doing the right thing  . A TRUE sytyer for sure...

I greatly appreciate chris trying to remedy the problem and the covers do look great....But in Toms defense (as Im sure he will clarify soon) his dissapointment as well as mine is that the covers were never test fitted (at least no tthe drivers side) before they were sent out. That could have solved the problem right there. Talking about clearance issues wasnt enough. If you read closer he also didnt get the SS bolts that he paid for. It was a great dissapointment to me as well, and im sure everyone else that got them that statement doesnt neccessarily mean that the world is going to end. If you pay for a product no matter what it is, it is a great dissapointment when it doesnt fit and in Toms case when he doesnt receive parts that he paid extra for. But once again I dont speak for him just for myself, and I am really happy about how well they came out and chris's effort to solve the problem. Thanks

Chris, There is no need to apologize. I was not pissed off. I knew you would do the right thing. If it is easier you can send both drivers side replacements for JBonehead and I in one box to either of our addresses and we'll send back both of ours in one box. I'm sure you can understand the excitement of getting something for your truck only to have the disappointment of it not fitting. As for the stainless bolts there was probably a minor miscommunication with the fabricator that shipped them. If you wouldn't mind sending the stainless ones with the valvecovers I'll put the ones I have in with covers we send back.

Sorry that i may have come across as Brusk. But since i am building a truck from the Ground up only a few things have ever fit right out of the Box. Hot Rod magazine did an article about this exact subject and i laughed because of how true it was.

So in the end it looks like everyone will be taken care of and Chris is a great guy that is willing to offer some great products for the community.

guys i really appreciate your understanding and patience.... on the other hand i should have taken better steps to ensure that this would not happen. marty and i discussed this issue and we made the adjustments to fix the problem ( or so we thought )!!!! no one should be pissed at marty on this as he was only helping me get this going because my truck in torn completley apart.

i have spoken with bob ( the fabricator )... he has a link to this thread and has viewed tommy's pics. he is going to notch the drivers cover for additional clerance. this will fix the problem for the stock alt and the powermaster.

the covers will be out to everybody mid week. once you have recieved the corrected cover. ship the wrong cover back to me...pm me a shipping amount and i will paypal the shipping refund to you. mail the cover to:

union chrysler dodge jeep
c/o chris keith
1246 s duncan bypass
union sc 29379.

Re: alum fabricated valve covers ( now with pics )

on a side note: i will be developing other parts for these trucks.... but with better research and development first.

next in line will be alum oil pans.
then hopefully if it all works out alum radiator supports.
hell who knows what else.
i am also in the process of having cnc machined pulleys made for these trucks.

these trucks are a passion of mine. not a hobbie but a true passion. i want to be able to provide quality products that are affordable to the average guy like myself.i guess i jumped the gun on this one. but from here on out we will not have these problems.... i assure you.

Re: alum fabricated valve covers ( now with pics )

Thanks again Chris. Jason and I will get ours back to you. Perhaps you can have a sticky in the For Sale section as the returned covers will create more sets when the fabricator makes the new drivers sides. I'm sure when more people see these beautiful covers they will sell out.

thanks tommy. i appreciate the compliment on the covers.

i am having 14 drivers covers made. 7 belong to paying customers. 7 will go with the covers sent back to me. therefore i will have 7 sets on hand ready to ship to "hopefully" future customers. i just hope this incident has'nt threw up a bunch of red flags for the products to come.
