Aftermarket CoilOver Front/Rear suspension?

Hey Guys,
Ive searched here but couldnt find a soild answer/suggestions, but what is the ultimate front and rear set ups for Sy's? For the fornt who has the best coil over set-up with tubular A-arms? And for the rear, anybody has coil over or something thats better then the leafSpring set-up? Any suggestions, comments would very much be appreciated, thanks ahead of time guys!! :)

Yes, we are working on this exact thing. We have the prototype set up, and have been tweaking mounts, and spring rates. We hope to have it full assembled and show it off in the next couple months. And make it available after that. Thanks

Wow, I thought by now there would be at least a handfull of quality kits available. Any other options?
Hey sportmachines, Im looking for something right now, can I get your first kit ready in less then a month?

what are you trying to accomplish with the truck? a good set of shocks (either bilstein's or QA1's) with the Belltech drop springs is a great way to go for the rear. RPM has a coilover/tubular arm kit for the front end already out if you want something right away.

as far as your thoughts of having a strong aftermarket for these trucks is concerned, you need to remember that there are less than 8000 trucks total. there are more toyotas produced in a month then syty's in existence. and those are the total production numbers. its estimated that only about 2/3 of that are still on the road/garage. in this small of a niche, its difficult for competitors to stay in business. that is why there are so few. slow parts turnover means little to no money for this market and its even more so if there are more competitors.

and on a side note, every once in a while we get a dedicated member of our society that goes out of his/her way to do a short production run on misc parts. and from reading posts about past group purchases, most dont happen again because of the time spent on doing it once was not worth the money in the end. i remember reading about the JSM DP's that it took many hours to get each DP fitted and welded. far exceeding the $$/hr worth fabricating.

5678TA: Very true and I totally agree with you bro. Thats also one of the reasons I was hoping to see a bunch of options so I could choose something that doesnt include alot of cutting/fabricating so the Sy could easily returned back to stock when these things start commanding big money. I did want something to increase handling/performance, and anything after that would be a bonus. And once again I totally agree with you on how the parts for these things are expensive because the parts/shops need to at least get reimbursed for the parts itself (the front end kit at 1700.00 is expensive as it is) not to mention the compensation for designing and buliding the parts. I guess we all knew what we were getting into when we bought these things, LOL.....

You can also put coilovers on the stock arms, to save money. And if you dont want to mod the frame. Could go back to stock that way.

Didnt the shock mount have structural issues with the factory A-arm set-up? And with the factory A-arms another issue is the angular and fitment with the coil overs too? I read a topic here and it did touch on the subjects but never had a definitive answer with solutions and results. I also thought if I was going to do a major suspension upgrade, then wouldnt it be more justified to do it not only right, but upgrade all of the parts so the performance improvements can be more justified? Do the frame, etc. need to be modified with the complete A-arm kit? And also one of the main reasons im lookin into doing this is because the A-arm bushings are shot, and with the coil over only kit, I would have to rebuild the A-arms and wanted to avoid that if possible. But it does look like because of the issues with the costs, possible frame/mounts failures and not a true shop source for the coil over only kit, keeping everything stock except installing Poly bushings, and rebuilding the front end is something I might as well do for now. Any other thoughts, ideas or solutions guys? I couldve sworn there was a complete kit about 8 to 10 years ago that had a full kit including a rear suspension system too?

I've run my truck HARD with coilover and stock shock mounts, I've inspected a ty with my a arm with almost 100k miles on it since install, and those mounts were fine.

Not saying GM didn't have quality issues with shock mount, but in the cases I have seen personally it has not been a strength issue.

Performance wise on a Syclone... there are several ultra fast Syclones with leaf springs and Caltrack bars. If you wanted to ever go back to a somewhat stock truck then this is your best setup. Add a decent rear sway bar for additional handling.

Do the coil over A-arm kit for the front. Find a JMS or do the RPM kit.

I sure hope the designs take in to consideration that there are some of us 4x4 S-10 people, early and late model, who want a good road truck more than some " Freaking " off road jacked up hill climber. I know we are not a unique group, but we do enjoy taking out the local hot rod show offs.:2cents:

Hey Horsehammerr: Its funny when you add that because I also couldve sworn that the 4X4 guys was also using that same kit I thought I seen some time ago. I was also looking into the pikes peak record holder (sorry cant think of his name right now) in his Sy way back in the early ninetys, and couldve sworn a couple guys had full front and rear coil over set-ups too.

Any new on a rear coil over setup? I talked to Detroit Speed Engineerng in Mooresville, NC. They "plan" to go some truck stuff in the future.
