Re: 93 TY running issue - timing ?

You could just plug your stock chip in and bypass the adapter plugged into your ECM. Your stock chip is plugged into the side of that adapter. It will slide off the adapter. You can see the pins from the adapter they go straight out from the edge of the adapter and slide into part of the stock chip.

If you look at the pic I put the blue circle on. Just above the circle are the pins that your stock chip is plugged into. And the brown plastic is the edge of your chip.

If you will take a pic of the stock chip before you remove it from the adapter. If it has the blue plastic on it please take it off. I would like to see if I can tell If it flipped over. I think it would be throwing all kinds of codes if it were. But I just want to be sure.

You truck may not run well with the stock chip and bigger injectors. But you may be able to see if it will rev past 3k RPM.

I have a set of stock injectors(30lbs?) you can borrow if you for pay the shipping both ways.
I got 009's in the truck so I won't be using them for a good while bu would like to keep them just in case. PM me if you want to go that route.

Re: 93 TY running issue - timing ?

I just had a fresh thought. I wonder if it's running in ALDL or limp-home mode? Particularly limp-home.

I realize there aren't any codes that would put it in limp-home, but the lethargic acceleration and inability to exceed 3,000 RPM jive with limp-home.

What would cause that , and what would it take to make it go away ?

Reason I ask is , last night I went back to square one.
I basically re checked every single thing I had already done , checked the timing , checked all the vacuum lines , spark plug wires , connections ect....
Took it for a test drive and same thing.
Parked the truck , didn't touch anything this morning. Drove it to family lunch and its now acting like nothing is wrong. It has a hesitation and a slight miss but is revving up and everything now like it should.

That is very generous of you and I truely appreciate the offer.

Another thing you can do is to change your fuel filter, it might be dirty. Even though your fuel pressure might show normal. You might not be getting enough fuel flow to support the engine at the upper rpms.

Re: 93 TY running issue - timing ?

I should have come back and updated this.
Ended up being a bad clamp on a rubber connection on the intake piping from the intercooler to the throttle body.
It was letting the boost leak out.

Since this I also adjusted on the truck and fixed the miss and hesitation mostly too with the tune and boost controller.

I plan on changing the plugs to some ngk property gapped, willing to bet she will run like a champ after that. Also hooked the 6al box back up and it helped smooth it out as well.

Thanks again everybody!
