I just replaced plugs (UR5) , replaced vacuum lines with silicon, distributer cap and rotor, and sprayed out the throttle body with amsoil power foam . The idle is about 1500 . I tried unpluging the batt no luck if i give it gas the light will go off briefly I ran out of zip ties so the only lines that are fastened are the ones on the turbo. I was going to pull the throttlebody and clean it next any sugestions ? BTW the car was running before all this was done .

Have you got Datamaster? A vac leak will give you a high idle, like 1100, and possibly a Code 35. What are your IAC counts?

There is a big port on the back of the TB that needs to be sealed off or the whole vac system won't work right. It the biggest thing on the back of the TB.

You may have issues with your plugs check your gap. I was getting the iac code 2 weeks ago but the problem wasn't the iac it just couldn't correct the idle from bad plugs and threw a code. Did you get some trash down to the iac or the throttle blades good place to start.

Can this valve be taken apart and cleaned I took the tb out and cleaned it real good . I put everything back together, still getting a code . I guess what do I have too lose?

You can remove the valve and have someone turn the key on and watch to see if the pintle moves. I take a small bit of rag and spray with carb cleaner and push it into the cavity and spin it with a screwdriver a few times till it comes out clean.

Just confirm you dont have a vacuum leak you can do the bike tube test. Get a bike tire tube and cut it so you can stretch one end over the intercooler. Tie the other end in a knot. Inflate the tube and listen for air escaping.

well i cleaned the iac valve no change I took carb cleaner and sprayed everything no change in rpm .Im going to try the bike tube tomorrow i read something you need to drive the car over 30 for the vave to readjust .

That is BS.When you pull/replace the ECM-B fuse the IAC will reset as soon as you turn the key on.

Re: 92 ty with code 35

i did pull the ecmb fuse there was no change

Left out a step,my bad:

To reset the IAC:
With the engine warmed up and the truck shut off, jumper the 2 top right ports on the ALDL.Turn the key to on (you should hear the IAC spinning.)Wait 30 seconds, then turn the key off.Remove the jumper.Pull the ECMB fuse out then put it back in.Start the truck. It should find it's own idle.
