Re: 5 pinion billet planetary for the 4472

Just got all the Transfer case builds packaged and shipped out. $389 to ship and package those suckers:(
I'll PM tracking numbers. Insurance on a built transfer case costs a lot more than a core.
You'll be really happy, T.P. It turned out really good. Make sure you check your propshaft shipment for the bolts and the stainless shifter lever.
Again, NONE of the transfer cases get shipped with any fluid in them!!! I left the top fill plug loose. Use Dexron III or equivalent ATF (or equivalent mean that ANY fluid that meets DexIII standard will work). Put the fluid in AFTER you install it or it will run out of the back of the case(output shaft) all over the place.
I know I've said this a lot but I really appreciate all of you guys putting up with the 4 months it took to complete this group purchase. The parts turned out better than expected (they even polished the planetaries).
You guys all have a very good New Years!!!

If you saw what UPS and FedEx has been doing to my orders this year, you'd appreciate it better. Especially something as rare as what I sent. One poor guy in Tx got one of my shipments and UPS had COMPLETELY removed everything from the box they tore up, basically turned the box into a bag with packaging tape, put a freaking hole in it so they could carry it easier and dropped it on his doorstep, minus bolts, brackets, etc. Basically anything that could fall out of the carrying hole they made. Yep, not happening again.
Calran Woo is gonna be giggling as well. His was a box within a box. First box was wrapped in a foam rubber material and then packed in another box. That way UPS could throw it off the plane and it'd just bounce. Yes, they dropped one of my shipments 25 feet OFF THE CONVEYOR GOING UP TO A PLANE. You can't make that crap up. It was an input drum going to Hungary.
I've got pics of what they did to Keith Watson's first package. UPS and FedEx just don't give a crap so I have do what is necessary to make it survive their torture....er....shipping methods.
Wait till guys start posting up pics of their transfer cases and the way they were packaged. Bubble wrap is my friend.
One of the guys I work with has a son that worked at UPS this summer. Know how they get packages out of a truck when it's full? Why, you just pull the bottom boxes and let the rest ROLL OUT, as high as 7 feet up. It's all about the speed.

It's just a six

Re: 5 pinion billet planetary for the 4472

Guys are starting to get their planetaries and all have been happy but one and his issue was more of a concern.
OK.
The planetary is the piece with the 5 gears in it.
The sun gear is the shaft that has the LONG splines on it to accept the viscous and the 35 teeth at the base where the bushing is.
If you assembled your transfer case using the 5 pinion planetary and it all went together, then you got the sun gear shaft. The stock sun gear shaft will NOT fit into the custom planetary. Everyone that got a planetary also got a sun gear shaft. Can't have one without the other.
Still have one set left.
Paypal only. No CC.
So it's a-holes like you smashing up all the stuff :)
Tell me something. Since you worked there. Why would they smash up a box, take all the stuff out, open all the individual packages and take another box in worse shape, wrap it up like a hornets nest with packaging tape, leave a hole in it to carry it, and lose all the stuff THEY tore out of the individual packages through the hole? That seems like an amazing waste of time. When they find a package they tore up don't they have someone to turn it in to?

Got mine last week. Couldn't have packaged it any better myself, airtight. Beautiful pieces. Thanks for putting this together.
