damn it, every time I read this posting I want to buy a kit from you. I think my wife would have my balls in a sling. This is very tempting to buy. You won't believe how much I think about this 80e tranny swap.

yea i got that backward longer front shorter rear. so you are confirming these ARE required to complete the swap,

cuz in your original post:

so what we are really talking about is for $1500 you have everything you need exept the rear ds needs to be shortened on your own 3 1/4"

What list did you read? :rotf: Longer front driveshaft is on sale for $380 if you get the kit and you need to shorten your rear driveshaft 3.25". It's really cheap to have one shortened and the stock front driveshaft(propshaft) isn't worth lengthening because the double cardan breaks on them. So $1320 for the install kit + $380 for the front prop if you want to get them while they are on sale. Mrsyclone hasn't been back in touch and hasn't paid and I'm still waiting on Protosy so I've got 2 hanging. If you buy one, it's yours. You can have this installed locally if you have a known good core, it's no big deal. I recommend doing a Transgo HD2 kit. I sell those for $115 if you want that too. It's up to you. 80e will be the last time you worry about the trans.

Your taking things out of context.
The people that are getting these are mainly those that have followed the developement for the 4L80e for the syty and they know what is involved so they knew what to expect and I wrote that for them which is why it came across as confusing. Clear as mud?
I'm offering propshafts for $380+shipping instead of the normal $413+shipping for all GP buyers. You don't have to purchase a driveshaft though to get the discount on the 4L80e installation kit. I have not been offering the rear propshaft because it is very inexpensive to have one SHORTENED. By the time you pay shipping on a new one, you could've had your stock one redone.
Kit contents are in my forum.
$1320+shipping is a frigging steal for the kit.
Go to my forum and look at the 80e goodies. Then you can start putting it together in your head. I'm working on a comprehensive set of instructions. Do NOT do an transgo HD3 kit that makes it a full manual. That is a mistake. Do an HD2 and some kinda of transmission controller. I sell the TCI units but you can use whoever you want. Some guys use BS3, some like the PCS, some like HGM. It's up to you which way you go. The GM ecm is way too difficult at this point to do anything with and requires an investment to actually program.
Do not do a transbrake unless the front and rear differentials are upgraded. You will blow them up with a transbrake. I recommend a line lock like Ed Hess is doing.

I PM'd you a detailed response. The one where I talked about Phoenix International, kit contents, etc. If you need, I'll send it again. I know you don't like typing but this stuff is better if it's typed out for reference.

If you can, call me tomorrow between 9AM and 12 noon central time. And you can give me a CC#. All you have to pay for right now is the kit itself so I can get Jeff taken care of for parts.

Talked to the last 2 people and all kits are spoken for. I will generate the last two invoices and then all invoices will go up with contents as some people ordered different things in addition to the kit itself.

8 of the 10 kits are done, complete and at or already shipped to george to combine with the other pieces.

Last 2 will be done this weekend. Part of those George already has (output shaft, shifter cable bracket)

Don't you guys worry. I've been contacted by PM and phone and guys are worried that it will take Jeff forever to get these done. He really is down to the two last kits. A couple guys needed them asap. And those will go out as soon as the dipstick tubes get here.

MAJOR NOTE!!!!
You need to tell me if you are gonna have you trans built by FLT (finish line transmissions). The design of the output shaft will not fit into their equipment for dyno testing. This is not a flaw. It's just an incompatibility. I can take care of the situation but I need to know BEFORE I send you your kit if you are gonna have yours built there so I can send a shaft that will fit their dyno.

If you are planning on doing a "poor man's coilover" kit from Eric(turbotime), NOW would be the time to do it. You can get those multiple crossmembers and crap out of the way and mount a fan back there and do some house cleaning. MUCH cleaner and lighter with all of that crap out of there.
I don't mean to plug Eric's kit but it REALLY makes it easier to put the big 80e in.

We are trying to make this a top notch kit. George has done a great job adding the additional nuts, bolts, clips, cables, etc.

I mounted a 12"x12"x 1.5" trans cooler behind the transfer case that has a 10" fan on it. Plenty of room to mount it once the two crossmembers for the torsion bars are gone. I'll take some pics of it.....on a Ty that is. A Sy has the gas tank there.
