1991 Sonoma build need help

Hey guys I am not new to turning wrenches but I am new to the site. I have a 91 Sonoma 4x4 I have been building for years; reason being lack of money, bill, women, growing up, etc. It is basically stripped down now. I love the TY/SY's but it is not one and I do not plan on making it a clone, I want it to be a one off show/daily driver. It was my dad's then I got it as my first vehicle so it means a lot to me.

The Plan:

1. New motor:
looking at LS motors tell me your thoughts 4.3 just doesn't have the 500 to 600 hp I want

2. Drivetrain:
not sure of tranny yet looking for suggestions
transfer case: I have a 2001 blazer for a donor it has 4 wheel drive on demand is this case good and can I make it work?

3. Rear end how does a ford 9 inch sound? only problem i am not much for putting ford parts under my GMC not a Ford fan

4. can i make my gauges work with a LS swap I would love to get the correct digital gauges from dakota digital to fit in my dash and retrofit them to work

5. how is my wiring harness gonna work I have did engine swaps and wiring harness splicing etc. so i believe I got a idea just give me you input

already has 4 inch cowl hood gonna add door poppers, lambo doors, in process of shaving tailgate, have roll pan, planning on chrome GMC grille with billet bars, 20 inch rims with 33's no lift detailed elaborate fender trimming to fit tires/rims, vibrant to midnight blue with silver flake paint:D

I want it to look like what the factory should have done

i wold post pics but at the time i am ashamed of it its primered up and has surface rust and guys i live on a farm if you have any questions as to why i am building it like this, this is just my taste:(

Sorry for punctuation, I appologize but what make yalls trucks so different? I understand the SY/TY network but yall are kinda being a little rude are you not? Are yall not car/truck enthusiasts to, no matter if it is a basic S10 or a Sy/Ty we all share a common wealth of knowlege for vehicles and enjoy them I would think.

Once again I appologize for ofending yall and did not intend on that but really respcet is part of the vehicle community in general.

I have a Duramax, a Corette, a Toyota and a Sonoma and been on many forums and no disrespect but I have never been offended this much on any of them I came on here wanting to help people and yall return the favor.

Yes it is primered and the tires are shot not rotted but it is a project truck, have any of yall ever had one?

As for lambo doors and poppers I have plans for, thats my taste sorry yours is different.

All I am saying is tell me where yalls are different? because yall have a turbo or a body kit? Like I said yall should just be a little more respectable of people and thier ideas, its basically the same truck. maybe I like my trucks built not bought but maybe im wrong.

That's one thing you won't find much of here. When there's almost nowhere to take it and have it "bought", you're stuck "building" it yourself. Take a look around. You'll see.

Ohh god damn it!!! I have truely lost faith in this shit already... This is SYTY.NET! SYCLONE...................TYPHOON.................... .NET this is not the place for you sir, we dont do lambo doors an lift kits an flat screens ect ect. Every one so far has told you this is not the place for your build, s10forum sounds like it will fit you like a glove. Good luck with your endevor an your build

if you really always wanted a syty . find one now there arent many left and the dead list just keeps going up . visit mr syclones site or deans syclone and you will see why our trucks are different than yours . and its not a body kit , its cladding , wheels not rims , and we do all we can not to use f#!d parts . and im pretty sure you can get all the hp you need out of the 4.3 just look at some of these sites . buy a syty and we will talk to you then

it's no wonder the s-series forum guys think we're pricks and that "our shit is better than everyone elses". :lol:

There are plenty of us on the S series forums and we aren't told to leave because we have turbos and "body kits". While I agree he's in the wrong place and most of us aren't interested in "regular S-10's". If I wanted to lift my truck and put 33's on it and lambo doors would I be greated so rudely and asked to leave? Nevermind I know the answer to that :lol:


We have other members on here with "run of the mill S-10s" with LS motors, and even some project threads for S-10 restorations that are un Sy/Ty/SoGT related. I'm just saying.
