There should also be a public Vendor Feedback section to allow members to air their grievances publically, and allow anyone considering doing business with a vendor a clear place to do research prioer to the sale.

Might I add, one moderated NOT by the owner of whatever business is in question.

The current setup right now allows the vendor to delete anything he/she does not agree with.

I'll be glad to answer the question. Once the vendor has established a pattern (more than three instances) of not delivering on commitments to customers, that vendor should be removed.

so if the vendor has 3 non-deliverances (heh) out of 300, thats still 99% good. They should be removed?? If they didn't ship 3 $1 brass fittings....but sold many multi-thousand dollar parts....they should be removed?

there is way more to it

3 out of 300 would not be a pattern.

If a vendor simply takes those three people's money and tells them "get over it" (gee, now where did I get that phrase...), then yes, the vendor should be gone. Now, if that same issue happens and the vendor attempts to remedy the situation, that is a different situation. It should not matter if it is $1 or $10,000. Business ethics is business ethics, regardless of the amount of money involved.

Who are we, and how are we to judge what a fair solution (remedy) to the problem is and how are we to figure out if one was even offered? Who do we believe (vendor or the customer)?

Re: Wtf !!!!!

amount of money should play a role in something like this. I agree that business ethics should make every customer as important as the next one....but from syty.net's pov, if someone "screws" someone out of a dollar....

and silly....3 of 300 is a pattern. Every 100 transactions you can expect them to mess up once. Thats a pattern.....my point is validated by you though - 3 of 300 isn't enough to take actions since you don't even think its a pattern.

You are the moderators and admins of this board. You are the ones who are forced, by position, to maintain law and order on this board. You need to look at the evidence presented to you by both the person who is claiming they were wronged, and by the vendor, and make your decision accordingly.

if you order something from a vendor in the back of Popular Hot Rod Magazine and the vendor burns you for $10....and you write a letter to the editor.....do you think the magazine will no longer let that vendor pay for advertising space?

I think that if the magazine gets enough letters, yes. The suggestion of more than three instances being required was a starting point. I think that most of the vendors on this board are lower volume companies. If you think three is too little, adjust the number. :)

That is a good analogy, only the sheriff doesn't wear a robe and wield a gavel, nor does he determine the severity of the sentence imposed, it's not his place to go beyond trying to maintain the peace of the community.

Just a few thoughts this thread has brought up:

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

The "newbie" should not need to be "protected" from anything, the information is here if one chooses to do their homework. Laziness should have a price, as should ignorance.

If you feel wronged by someone, the best time to seek a resolution is now, rather than letting your feelings fester to the point that you erupt when someone else has the sense to do what you SHOULD have done, address the problem at the time it occurs.

I do not agree with the moderators 100% of the time, I don't imagine anyone does. I DO however respect what they do (put up with), understand that there is a reason they took the action they did, and appreciate that they do this thankless job for nothing but the good of the community.

I don't have a dog in the fight, nor a care in the world if anyone agrees or disagrees with my opinions, just a lot of free time in the afternoon. I feel that sharing my thoughts is my right as a shareholder, er, wait...this place is privately owned isn't it, and should probably be looked at more as a "gift" to those of us who appreciate the wealth of free information and camaraderie, and perhaps left alone by those who feel the urge to continually look the proverbial gift horse in the mouth.

That is what i am thinking. Renz i think you and the mods of this site do a great job. Everyone else needs to be accountable for their own shit. I have all my emails from 4-5 years ago when i was blowing money out my ass.

I always have receipts, emails, hell i even kept most of the boxes my shit was sent in.

What happened to people searching the board and finding out who they wanted to do business with. I picked and choose, and if i didn’t and just picked a random person/vendor i called talked to them personally and knew i was taking a risk.

Not trying to clutter this up. I have delt with mostly RPM, and almost every time it takes Mike 1 month longer than he says. Is that a problem. No... Why... Because we have one of the rarest.... hardest to work on.... less supported car/truck ever made. They aren’t DD’s so what the **** is the rush. And if you do DD your sy/ty, and have to have shit on time. You need to sell it now and go buy a reliable car, because these arnt.

Why not have some one step up, start there own business and take over what Waller is failing to do. That’s right, were to busy to do that.

Better yet all you guys with chips problems, go take your truck to a dyno. Pay for the dyno and see if anyone has any idea what they are doing if they try and tune it.

This is my only post for this topic. Done

 OK, earlier i posted that i agreed with silly that the MODs should police these issues to an extent. And i still believe that to be the case. Renz and the rest of you are doing fine in my book, just as new issues arise i think you guys at some point do need to step in. I dont know exactly when that is, but there is a point at which you should.

The quote above is plain stupid however. If we dont take some action to somewhat protect newbies then we will see more and more vendors/people on here to take advantage of them. Those are the ones we should most protect in my book, some of us have been here long enough to know not to trust people, shame on us for not doing our homework i agree. For someone new to these trucks and to syty.net it may be a little overwhelming. To just let them get taken because they are new and didnt read old old posts is ignorant. I have no dog in this fight either as i stated earlier. Maybe we all should become vendors and only sell to newbies, then take their money and laugh at them, see how long the community stays together that way.

As a community we have the right to voice our opinion, as many of you have and will. MODs, dont take it to personal! chill out!

Members, dont bash someone over a dollar, 420 i remember reading your stuff before, thats not a dollar, bashing is ok!

This board is gossip and bash cecntral, its like being back at nats 9. And other than seeing roberts truck run and meeting a couple of you there it wasnt much fun, much like this subject.

Here is a suggestion. do something like , where you can leave comments that can only be removed if BOTH parties agree to remove it. That way people can bitch if they want about a vendor or whoever, then if things are worked out they can both remove it, if not its there for the rest of us to research before using vendors. This would poss benefit both parties, 1 the vendor should want all bad comments about them removed for obvious reasons #1 future business. 2 members can post their problems without fear that mods or the vendor will just delete them due to advertising $ or friendships, they have some power over the vendors in this case to right whatever the wrong was. This could work the other way as well, if poor customer then vendors could post on them as well.

Just and idea, im sure someone will attack me know for putting it out there. OH WELL!

EVEN GREAT FRIENDS AND FAMILY HAVE BAD BLOOD FROM TIME TO TIME. you air it out and maybe get over it. if not part ways.

Its time to go home, please continue with the drama!

Re: Wtf !!!!!

somehow Renz is 100% correct, things happen and ALL vendors have experianced these type of situations. I imagine if instead of blowing this out of proportion and were a little more understanding of this being a typical mishap, that DOES happen time to time. Most vendors arent sitting by the phone waiting to talk about You or YOUR flange being .001mm off and how do to yada. They for sure are not solely devoting all thier time to each individual. Granted the vendrs do do a lot of work and sometimes as we all know, things come up and things change.

To you Supposed entirely screwed RIP-OFFees:

You have every right to be upset as many are for these types of situations, but, please refrain from a forum bash; from my experiances with Jwaller all i can say are good things, that goes for the rest of the vendors(although drama has occurred, its been able to be worked out public bash free privately); they spend a lot fo time trying to make everyone happy; you think its an easy task? Then you go for it.

ps i actually agree with renz and other members, can you believe it?

...yet you at least partially agree. Note I said should not NEED to be protected. Why should this only apply to those who have been here a while?, This should apply to life. I'm not saying start at page 1 of an archived mailing list, but a little bit of time reading followed by a "Can someone recomend an <insert product/service here> for my truck?" post should be a step taken by anyone who values their $, and is definately not too much to ask of someone who is seriously trying to learn and be around for the long haul.

2675, I'm not trying to argue, not even getting defensive, if it came off that way, just clarifying what I meant. I'm all for seeing new members "taken under a wing", just tired of the (general) mentality that things should be done FOR me. The nature of these things dictates that you at least get some sense of satisfaction from finding answers to problems. Let me be the first not to bash you, there could be good info gained from your idea of mutual retraction, wether it bears fruit or not. As for the other comments you deemed "plain stupid"... a fool and their money will soon part, God helps those who help themselves,...the list goes on and on man.

Well, John Hennessey got banned from viperclub.org for being a piece of shit and screwing the viper community. I think they did the right thing by banning him and that should go for any vendor that continues to screw up. Oh and by the way.......WALLER IS A HACK.
