Wrench & learn session

Anyone have plans for a wrench session? I need some help with the parts I've been collecting over the winter. I have lots of stuff I need some help getting installed; ZQ8 F/R shocks, rear SW, Gilbert, trans/boost gauges & pod, FP, AFPR, and a full tune. I have a two car garage in N.IL and tools but, no air or specialty type tools. I have attended 2 wrench sessions in the past with great results and it is the only I can learn my way around these trucks. I will travel for help, buy lunch, return the favor, or whatever I need to get this stuff on and start enjoying the upgrades. Let me know if people are willing to help with my list of parts. Thanks to those members who have helped already. Reply in this thread, PM me or, e-mail. I check 'em all daily. TIA.

I would be more than willing to help you put most/all those parts on. As far as the tune goes if you have either an ostrich or a chip adapter already then i have everything else to help get the tune done on it. Send me an email and we can talk about it more blubyu@ameritech.net we could do the work at my place since I have air tools and most tools to do what we need and I live super close.

Also, if we want to make this into a wrench session to anyone else in the area start posting and we can go from there

Not sure where your towns are, but I work at a dealership in East Peoria, IL and if you want to use the shop one saturday I'd be willing to help. I have plenty of tools and lifts.

I am in StL but I think you guys are way north of here.

Peoria isn't too far.
Maybe we should have it in 12secSy's garage.

My Ty is way overdue for a wrench session but I am perpetually waiting on parts.
It is always motivation to get out and work on someone else's that doesn;t need as much TLC as mine.

Steve - I'll give you a hand.

Adam has moved on to Florida. His dad's new shop is amazing....

Anyway - I'm more than willing to give you a hand. I haven't muttered a swear word at a Ty in awhile.

Algonquin sounds close enough for me. Let me know what schedules look like for you guys who are close and want to attend...Sy#2921 and GMTurbo. I will be out of town over Memorial Day weekwnd but the next two Saturdays are free for me 6/3 and 6/10. Let me know if I need to bring any tools, jack stands or, whatever. Sy#2921 make sure you check with the P's 1st if you are still living at home.

Re: Wrench & learn session

I already talked to them and they are cool with it. All I would want is a rough head count and then if it is getting big enough for some small food to be brought for some grillin' and what not. Ive got enough room to park 2 more trucks in my driveway and then I am going to ask the neighbor who has a big back yard if we could put a few over there but they have to be syty's only as like the show corral.

I am busy this weekend as well, but the 3rd looks the best since the 10th I plan on going to rsd at great lakes. So lets plan the 3rd and start to get things organized

I may be able to stop by - let me know what time - I would like to meet some of you guys. I don't have all day, but a little time working is better than none...

Re: Wrench & learn session

Jas, if something materializes buzz me I'll even drive.
Chic is a little far for me as well, but Peoria/Sprngfld is do-able.
I'll be at your place with bells and whistles whenever you are
ready to do yours. You know how to get in touch with me.

I am down for a little get together, I won't lie, I am pretty useless when it comes to a wrench but always enjoy shooting the shit about syty's.

Re: Wrench & learn session

Address is 526 Summit St Algonquin IL 60102 mapquest does give the best directions I have learned. If you want to bring some common hand tools that would help, I have everything we need but we might end up fighting for the same thing since I only have one of some tools. Other than that just bring your parts, I have plenty of jack stands and a set of ramps.

Alex, if you come you MUST bring your ty or else frank and I will both kick the snot out of you, mostly me though since I want to see this ty that frank talks about that will walk on my sy once you are completely done with it.

TIME: Lets start things around 10am and go from there. If you are just coming to bs feel free to show up whenever but if work is getting done lets get it done so we all can relax, socialize and have a few brews!
