What should i do with my exhaust??

I just recently bought syclone 2163 with 74,000 miles on it completely stock (as far as I can tell). The problem is that there are small holes in the exhaust running up and down the pipes from the cat to the bumper. The holes look to be caused by rust. However the pipe from the turbo to the cat is fine. The exhaust looks stock except the mufflers were removed and replaced with straight pipes. I was going to have my local muffler shop just put in new pipes from the cat back. However my question was would it be beneficial to completely remove my cat and just run straight pipes from the turbo back or does the turbo need some kind of backpressure and would it create boost problems. And also should I stick with 2 1/2 inch pipes or jump up to 3 inch all the way back, or at least from the cat back if I go that route.

My Sy still has the stock exhaust, so I don't have any first-hand experience in this area. However, some people have had horrible overboost issues after removing the cat, while other trucks run great. Unless you want to mess around with it, keeping the cat is the way to play it safe. I think just about everyone goes to a 3" exhaust though, as the higher flow lets the turbo spool faster.

Well i did think about putting on the ATR exhaust, however i dont have the money to shell out three to four hundred dollars right now and i can get the new pipes from the shop put on dirt cheap.

Dirt cheap, and they'll begin rusting within a month or two, then you'll be in the same boat. ATR is full stainless and can pretty much outlast your truck. I'm a big fan of ATR exhausts, don't ask me about their battery relocate setups, or their downpipes however..

You CAN keep the original downpipe and cat. Just bolt the ATR exhaust right onto the cat. As far as prices go, well, somebody here must have an answer to that.

Ditto that on the ATR pitbull. It was so easy to install it was sick, and it was made to fit perfectly. You can also polish the stainless to look so slick you can see yourself. It also sounds great.
