What items would you like available from SyTy Vendors?

I had a email conversation with a buddy of mine and it got me to thinking

if other syty members had a "Wish This Was Available List" besides me? Like:

1. A reasonably priced stainless or aluminum sheet metal fuel tank (or sumped tank)

for Typhoons that allowed internal mounting of an external fuel pump with stock sender.

2. A Gauge Cluster option for a tach that had a programmable led shift light (for that factory look)

3. A Neutral Lockout Device for our factory shifter (to prevents mis-shifts into neutral)

4. A reasonably priced upholstery shop which could "slot" SyTy seats for

racing harnesses.

5. Labeled SyTy wearing apparel (like racing helmets, racing jackets, racing patches or

racing harnesses)

6. Carbon Fiber or Fiberglass IC Scoops (that would match the lines of

the front bumper) which could be body colored painted

7 Custom ZR1 SyTy or GM Labeled Wheel Caps front/rear

8. Custom external SyTy mirrors with the led turn signals

9. A complete engine dress up kit for SyTys

10. A console overlay which would allow use of non-factory Transmission Shifters

11. Carbon Fiber or Fiberglass Vented Headlight Benzels (to allow engine air flow)

So what "if any" items would you like offered through SyTy Vendors? Just Curious.

A chrome, aluminum, or carbon fiber crossover (stock) air tube.

Hi-temp plastic insert (in matching truck color) to fit into "Syclone" on intake...so I don't have to paint it.

Dash plate that has truck number (GNX-style)

Dress-up hood pad

SyTy Specific roadside hazard signs (for breakdowns :rotf: )

4 Link Rear suspension, that I don't have to engineer myself that is designed for AWD.

i wonder how close the castings are to make this feasable.

One alternative option is to use the glass bead crap that people make xmas ornaments and custom stained glass pieces from....just fill the sy logo and melt the shit into place. I had an intake w/ that done to it, it looked sorta cool.

Good point. They're probably all slightly different. Maybe if there was a hi-temp gel that would just harden up like caulk or something. Or the stuff you mention above. :tup:

On my truck I had just grabbed a bottle of model paint with an eye dropper and went to town. Took me about 10 minutes and looked great. Its gone now because the upper went through the ol parts washer last year.

There's an upholstery shop in Fort Collins that repaired my stock Ty seat. The driver's side seat bottom needed restitched and they did it for $150. Looks factory too. You might try them. I'll see if I can dig up the name. :tup:

I'd like a vacuum-formed, or laid up fiberglass or carbon fiber, mount for the factory ECM that takes it out of the stock location and makes it accessible for tuning and chip swapping, but keeps it protected from foot kicks, etc. I'm thinking a two-piece thing with a removable access cover to get to the chip. I looked at this last night and it may require making something that would also replace the passenger side kickpanel trim.

The castings are different. Earlier VIN trucks have a very shallow casting and get deeper as you get higher in number. The casting on my truck is about as deep as the thickness of a CD, maybe less.

Ive always wondered if anyone has ever used the colored epoxy that you see set in rims (OCC does alot of it on their theme bikes)..... i know some golf club heads use it as well (saw some episode with them milling the things)

That would be something cool, but rather see it made in the same manner as the kick panel so it looks "stock". Sort of like Lo-Tek's guage piller pods.....they look like they came factory. The panel could have quick release tabs to remove a small section to get to the memcal portion

x2 The crossover provides a cooler inlet air, but I fear the stock crossover's crumbling, and going into the turbo.

I'm not sure about the crossover providing cooler air.... the radiator heat soaks it pretty bad, which is what turns the plastic brittle... I installed a thermal mat beneath my crossover to insulate it from the radiator. Crossover used to be almost hot to the touch, now stays almost cool... :2cents:

Get the moates extender... leave the ECM in the stock location.

Or, a newer bluetooth ostrich and just leave it in.

One of the chicago guys had a custom CF crossover tube that didn't have the crushed-down area where the hood latch was. Much freer-flowing.

Could do this with 'glass.
