What does this Clip do? *update*

It's the clip wich is under the bolt.
it';s from the front differential

t sets side to side clearances on the front diff carrier and in turn the pinion depth. dont move it or you will have to set up the front carrier again

didn't moved it, but i replaced the bearing.
do i have to check the offset, or is it fine this way, (org. timken bearing)?
weird that not of this stuff is written in the workshopmanuals.

I would at least check it. bc you never know if they are all the same. and no none of it is in the manuals..

thanks for the help.
really don't know how i could check the clearance, it think i will just let it be...... my idea would be that the bearings are made with pressicion techniques, so it won't be much off, comparing it to the old bearing.

maybe the manufactors installed this to compensate (SP?) fabrication differances of the casting.
