What am I missing??

I pulled the Kenwood from my truck and was happy to see that the stock wires & plugs (little blue, long black) seem to be intact. But when I plug everything in, I get no power to the stock radio.

There's a fused wire hanging here (yellow-to-red wire) which trails to somewhere near the steering column. Could this be the power source and if so, how do I get it to the radio??

Keep in mind there is a 10-CD disk changer in the center console so I'm sure some of the wires must lead to it.

the small black harness is only the speakers isn't it?

I think you are missing the plug with the power ground and ign power.

I just put mine back in for Nats too or Id have it out to compare.

cd changers usually have a constant hot yellow wire going to it (so you can eject the magazine when the car is off)

Well, not according to a diagram and chart (like the one found at installdr.com). The black harness should be:

Light gray - Left front speaker (-)
Tan - Left front speaker +
Light green - Right front speaker (-)
Dark green - Right fr. speaker (+)
Black - Ground
F slot - not used
Gray - Headlight dimmer wire (?)
Pink - Power antenna (if avail)
Yellow - +12 volt ignition wire
Orange - +12 volt battery wire

The small blue harness is all rear speakers. I assumed that yellow and orange above would supply power, but they don't. Suggestions? Pics of stock set-ups?

Thanks Mike, you're probably right about the yellow wire since the CD magazine no longer ejects.

Yellow - +12 volt ignition wire
Orange - +12 volt battery wire

so orange is constant hot and yellow is hot when key is turned forward only. You'd tap that yellow for a remote turn on if you have amps...orange for cd changer or something requiring constant power (i.e. radio clock / preset stations, cd changer)

you want ignition switched power going to the radio.
