So my pump is leaking from that hole in the picture there.. Does that mean the pump is shot?

If so does anyone know if I can take it apart and just replace the seal?

The shaft is nice and tight with no play...

Re: Water Pump Question

They can be rebuilt, you have to press it apart and together. I paid 50.00 to have mine rebuilt and have not had any issues with it to date.

$50 is a lot cheaper than $200 for a new Edelbrock aluminum pump... Where did you have it rebuilt?? What kind of place would I look for locally? Or did you mail it out?

That is the weep hole. If it is weeping, then the seal is leaking that seals the shaft to the case where it passes through to get to the impeller. Basically, the water passing through will wash out any grease and then you will smoke the bearing.
