sup.
my wipers are acting up.i put them on delay,they sweep once and park in the middle off the w/s....delay for 8-9 seconds,then run like there on 'slow'(next position after delay).adjusting the delay has no effect.when shutting them off,nstead of parking at the bottom of the w/s,they park ramdomly,all over the place.after hitting 'mist' a couple times,they will eventually park correctly(or close),after 3 sweeps(mist has always been 1 sweep).the parking issue at all wiper speeds
soo,my Q...ever heard of this....
i know theres the switch and the motor,but is there a relay in there somewere,or does the switch itself control the delay and speed control?
im trying to narrow it down to 1 piece soo im not replacing everything.

lol, boy does this remind me of mine that I had on it.

Its the park in the motor thats bad. Is this the stock motor or a replacement one?

Your going to need a new motor.

stock GM motor..
i thought maybe it was the control switch going south....
you had this issue and a motor corrected it??
i know some guys have intermitant activation when using the signals,but i couldent find(search) anything like this...

Yeah, mine would stop going the wrong way. Meaning they would wipe down the window and not up it. And stop half way sometimes. Replaced the motor and this stopped.

The intermitant activation is a big problem with our truck as well. Which there are threads on it, you'll have to really search hardcore to find them though. Which we still havent found a "true" way to fix that yet. And the only way to get close is to tare apart the column. Which no one wants to do. :lol:

replace the motor, it should fix your problems. If nothing else you can always take it back to most stores if it doesnt.

thanks Tim.
iv never had any intermitant activation issues,just weird parking.probably get a motor from one of our dealers...
add it to the list of stuff to get when it comes out in the spring.too little time left for driving it,nevermind wrenching.

edit-iv always had GMs were the stalk croaks for one reason or another(cc switch or wiper switch craps out or snapped off)..its pretty easy to replace after 4-5 times,but thanks for the link.

my cost on that motor is $236....looks like ill be going to the bone yard...
parts guy says "not to many of those truck around anymore,parts are expensive"
i said "hows this motor diff.from the other 2 million jimmys/blazers w/delays on the road?"
he said..."err,i dont know.."

Dude, give Hood a call or PM him and see how much he has them for.

Mine with core charge only costed me like $74 if that from my local family owned parts store. If you told him its for a Ty he might of jacked the price up for whatever reason.

If Hood doesnt have any for whatever reason, I'll get another one down here for you and ship it to you if you want. Then you can just send me a check or whatever. I'll hook it up on my truck first to see if it wipes the correct way first though. lol.

for s&g i called a local mom/pop store...$74. for reman. unit w/core. i ordered it.
usually our GM dealer is pretty competative...but not on that item.

See, it really does pay to make several calls to different parts stores and some times even several GM dealers if it's a "Dealer only" item! BTW if you need a hard to find item, espically a dreadded dealer only one, try Dick at Off Shore Auto. He is a retired dealership parts manager, knows everybody on the west coast and has contacts for used / junk yard and discontinued factory parts.
I been doing business with him for over fives years and not just for GM parts! Call him at 800 -239-0365.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I have a quick question. My wipers are acting exactly as Toolman describes. Looking on Ebay, there are replacement circuit boards that can be bought. Is this problem in the circuit board that pops into the wiper motor or is the problem in the motor itself?
