Truck weight vis HP

Stab it and steer it
Weighed the truck today. 1/2 fuel me in it, 3600#

12.6 @ 107 (a good run for me) Boost runs from about 17# at the hit to about 19# at the stripe. Various HP calc on the web put me in the range of 360 hp.

Don't know what others are getting from similar builds just hadn't done this before.

Rough Estimates

Based on ET = 355
Based on MPH = 362

I've always counted MPH as a better indicator, so you're right about 360.

Some more calcs for ET based on Weight & HP:

3600 lbs x 360 hp = 12.55 @ 107
3500 lbs x 360 hp = 12.43 @ 108
3400 lbs x 360 hp = 12.30 @ 109
3300 lbs x 360 hp = 12.19 @ 110
&
2000 lbs x 360 hp = 10.32 @ 130

Wait....10.32? That sounds familiar.....

those online calculators spit out wheel hp. i used to play with those like a religion when i was starting out with my trans am. made 316rwhp when i started and it translated to mid 12's. she went 12.7 on my first run on slicks missing a shift. had oil problems after that and threw a rod.

I have heard people claim that calculation spits out crank hp. I think people use it for what seems to make sense for their vehicle. Anyways it's a rough estimate.

The formulas for determining these rough estimates have been around for a very long time (published in 1958), but it depends on which formula you use as it's been rewritten and edited many times since. Hale's formula is the most popular for JS calculators online.
