Tracking device for a SyTy......

Well I am constantly paranoid about either one of my trucks getting stolen. I want to put a gps tracking device on both of them. Looking for something that is concealable, has a back up battery, and hopefully I can track from my phone. I don't want something like LoJack that forwards the info to the cops. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated :tup:

We just installed some in our work trucks will talk to my engineer Its bad ass web based shows you on google earth.

We hve those at work also, but it has a b..ugly antenna on the roof.
It does have web based tracking access with, I think, one year history memory

If you're really worried about them getting stolen, I'd start by at least remembering to lock them first :lol:

I never lock my doors. Nothing worse than a missing stereo AND a broken window. I run a switch that turns the ignition off and a switch mounted elsewhere that turns the fuel pump off.

Get a viper smart start with gps. You can lock, unlock, start, pop hatch and watch you location right from your phone. We sell it for 799.oo installed. Its sweet

I'm pretty sure you bailed on working on your truck because you had to stay late at work. GET OF SYTYLAND AND KEEP WORKING!

That could work some times but from the people I know that got there shit stolen, it always works 1 of 2 ways....

1. It gets stolen
2. They fail at stealing it and destroy it in anger

We use their system and it works really good. The GPS box is relatively small and we mount it up under the dash. It has an external backup battery (which lasts longer than the internal ones), and also has a starter disable feature which does just that. They cost around $200 each, but money well spent in my eyes.

The C3 series has an option for a tracking device with a phone application.

I second that. Our trucks are fairly old and professionals who use tow trucks usually concentrate in much newer vehicles. A truck that won't start is not likely to get stolen. Fast cars - and trucks - stolen by joyriders often end up crashed and/or trashed (speaking from experience) and while the insurance company might have it repaired, it's virtually impossible to prove that the engine and transmission were in perfect shape before the theft.
