Made a drastic change in the tune. Im going to lock up the converter as soon as it hits 3rd gear. Prevoiusly set the lock up at 100mph this was 6000 rpm in 3rd. Now it will lock as soon as it shifts from 2nd to 3rd 76 mph. More load more power!!! Mabey a low ten or 9.99. Hope the track is sticky tonight.

Dont lock it in to low RPM. If U do U gona lose the momentum when the engine strugle to get up in powerband..

First pass 10.53@137 of the trailer soft launch. Tune was the same as my last run. I wanted to see if the air would make it pick up. It did. Went 106.8 in the 8th. Motor was running gret tune was spot on. Next pass I threw .5 psi more boost into it. Right from the launch I felt the , truck was making more power. Had my bet 60 ft to date ant it picked up .060 at the 330 ft mark from my previous best 10.27 @135. Right after it shifted into 3rd there was a huge bang. Goodbye engine!!!!!! At a glance it appears the crank broke and it split the block by the factory mech. Fuel pump location. I'm sure the 4 years of abusing the stock engine block just caught up to me before I could get it into the nines. Unfortunately the pass it blew on was prolly the one. Data log looked perfect. Afrs were good. Just to much power for a stock crank I guess. I never did get to try locking the converter up earlier as planned. I was saving that in my bag of tricks if she went 10.00 to get me to the 9s. I have a go pro video of the run I'm sure you will here the engine go doom. I'll post that later. Looks like the Bowie motor is going in!!!!! I can't say I'm to upset. I ave the record for now. And that motor took some 350 pass most of witch were 10 sec passes. Not to mention the 15 years of beating it took before that. I learned a shit ton about tuning and engine building. I'm sure that will help with my new quest to be the first in Typhoon in he 8s.

Welcome to the club Frank! I felt the same way once my pile o' parts gave up the ghost earlier this summer. I knew it was making enough steam, but the parts just couldn't handle it (two 1/8th mile passes with low-6.XX ET / 108mph).

Good luck with your bowtie build! I have decided to join the dark side and perform an sbc-swap with a single turbo.

Once again, sorry for the breakage...

I put the URL in the "youtube" brackets from the new feature from the icon on the tools menu...don't have a clue why it isn't working? So the link works.

I was there last night. Frank was more worried about the track mess I think than his truck. The track workers thanked him for pulling over quickly (as he always does..unfortunately proven by the transmission breakage the other night with the SY). That is right 2 broke trucks in 4 days...wow. Frank's numbers were on target for a very low ten or that elusive 9.99. We re-viewed the log last night there were no problems with the tune the crank just reached its expiration date I guess.

Did your time slip have the 1/8th mile numbers on it? If it did post it up because the 1/8mile times might also be a new record.
