You're getting off cheap. If no one splits the ride with me (1,400 miles R/T), I'm looking at over $1,000...and don't forget about any truck prep costs and raffle tickets which adds more.
I'll probably have a similar tow vehicle and figured 14mpg (?) at about $2.75 per gallon.

I would save a ton by driving the Ty, but that has costs too.

You have $300 in gas for both trucks easy. Thats 10mpg in the tow vehicle (if the 4.6 can get that towing a minimum of 5klbs of ty+trailer), and $40 in the Ty for driving around while here.
$100 in Hotel and misc stuff
$100 in raffle tickets, misc tolls, T-Shirts, ETC
$200 in food. Easy.
I'd bet $700-$1,000 total investment depending on how "frugal" you are.

~$50/day for food x 2 = ~$100 for food
~$27/night for hotel x 2 nights = $54 for hotel
Registration (I don't know how much that is)
Throw in ~$100 for incidentals.
(234 + 100 + 54 +100) = $488 + registration fee = total

Some how a select few always seem to get out of places without paying and even get some memorbilia (pizza trays).

i surely hope you aren't saying people should start running out on their checks. That's hardly a great way to make a name for ourselves, and all that does it hurt the group as a whole. Last thing you want is some poor 16yr old kid/waiter who has to foot your bill since you decided to run...and he sees a lot full of similar trucks to key up. Think about what your actions can really cost you/others.
Just pay the $10 for the meal that you ate and be on your merry way. We, as NATS committe, personally have our names out around town with different establishments....and if anything comes back at the group for stupid shennanigans like this, exactly who's shoulders do you think it falls on?
I'm all for having fun at these events...anyone who's been around me long enough knows this. I want everyone to have a great weekend...but not at someone elses expense.
