I have met Terry a few times, he isnt one to bullshit IMHO. I suspect that truck actually ran those numbers, though never saw it do so. Last I heard he was thinking of selling it, not sure what happened. Nice and intelligent fellow he is, hope things are well for him.

why? cause he can't tune them so they run slow, or blow up?

that stupid article says the thing runs 610 hp at 18psi? Stokes said that they engine dino'ed it, but i guess that we can't beleive everything we hear, right?

anyway, i thought that it would have been cool to see a truck that ran in the 10's 4-5 years ago..........thats all.....

No you can't nor can you hide in your basement all day and night. Remember run but you can't hide, the bell is tolling and I hear it getting louder. Doomsday is coming my friend.

Ive seen the pics of the truck, and i know it is capable of the numbers they claim. 1300hp, and 1500+ft lbs.. havent seen hard proof, but I dont care either.. has 18 deg heads, HUGE turbo, custom headers, huge a/a, th400 etc.

I had pics of the truck... lost 'em, or something.

I am almost positive it had Pontiac heads Mike. Turbo had a 5" downpipe, was about the size of a 4.3 block.

come to think of it Brian i think you are right. He had the super duty heads like someone else I know

Yeh I remember when you and Ivan went up there and scouted the place out. Looked pretty intimidating.

i got the article right here in front of me.....

its titled:

610 hp and 709 lbs of torque, like no other V6 ever!

Jiim Stokes built 297 cid V6 engine.....says it all Kenne Bell equiped? i find this a little hard to beleive...

by the way, this was from the August 1995 KB catalog, just for reference.....

Mike,
maybe he went to another combination later, but i was simply asking about this one, since alot of people seem to question Stokes, ya know?

why is 610hp at 18psi hard to believe? Back in the day that was pretty sick. But in reality it is pretty much the same combo alot of people are using today. Also keep in mind this is KB marketing. The same company that sold hundreds of their instant blow up chips. They also claim Guy's truck is 100% KB equipted. Most of the parts on the truck, were KB parts. However if you want to get technical you cant build a 297" motor out of the KB catalogue.

i guess that the only KB product that i like is the adjustable fuel pressure regulator any more. this is because i tried his stuff with my previous build-up and was some what dissapointed. just my 2 cents...

what size turbo did his truck have?

It was a 90mm if I remember right, huge exhaust side must have been like a 1.3 AR housing. Small children could have played in the tail pipe. Supposedly they can't keep it together making too much power. Having seen it first hand I can tell you if they can keep it together and launch straight its a legit low 9 second maybe 8 second truck but...the custom headers were sweet...

Well you all are right...
The truck did run 10s YEARS ago.
the setup that I saw was a HUGE $$$ Jim Stokes motor.
t-67 turbo from Turbonetics...
KB headers...
Accel DFI...
Guy Reffette my self and a good friend of mine went to see it run for the first time out...
11.73 at 114.....
It got faster as the tunning got done...
We went to RT 41 dragstrip in Indiana.
that was 5-6???? years ago??
cool truck...
I think I started spending my pennies after seein that thing run.....
