Hello all my name is Max, I am a new member from St Paul, Minnesota. In 2001 I bought Syclone number 929, in 2003 my Syclone was stolen. I did not replace my truck and just moved on. 7 years later my truck was recovered, and I managed to get it back - LONG story there, anyway, glad to be a member and I’m looking forward to learning a lot and getting my truck back on the road!

The story goes like this, while driving to a friends house in stop & go traffic I was hit from behind, the truck that hit me was then hit from behind, then I was hit again by the same truck. The bed of my truck was damaged significantly along with some damage where the bed hit the cab, but my truck was still drivable. Insurance claim made and my truck went to the body shop. After being at the body shop for about a month, the owner of the shop called me on a Monday to inform me that the previous Saturday morning when he went to his shop he noticed the dome light on in my truck, investigating, he noticed the passenger door lock was punched and the door was open, dash wires hanging down and messed with. He called police and report was filed. Saturday evening police were patrolling in the area and noticed the dome light on again in my truck, investigating, the police found 2 men in my truck trying to steal it, arrests made, were thinking its over. Not so much, Monday morning there were drag marks where it was pulled onto/into a trailer and it’s gone! Insurance paid out and title delivered to insurance, we move on. 7 years later my brother recieves a call from someone looking for me (my number was unlisted). My brother gives him my number and he calls me and asks “have you ever owned a 91 Syclone” I respond with yes, who are you? (VERY interested to ‘talk’ to him) he respond by saying he’s a contract repo man and he is trying to find out about this truck he has recently repo’d. I told him what I know and gave him the insurance company’s info - they own it now. He called insurance company, they called me, I gave them his number, he sent photos of the truck to insurance (not repaired from my crash) insurance asked if he wanted to keep the truck for his storage cost, he said yes, I bought it back for his repo & storage cost - repo guy then told me the rest of the story, truck was stolen by a drug and car theft ring in Minneapolis, leader of the ring got into a fight at a Minneapolis bar, shot and killed a bouncer and wound up in prison. Ring leader’s wife was hounded by people her husband owed money to, she walked away from everything. My truck went to an elderly man who was owed money by the ring leader - where it sat, for years. He died unexpectedly, so now his wife has all of this ‘stuff’ of unknown origin that she is suspicious of, and wants it gone - apparently she was no part of his dealings. So, truck is back now with 200 miles on it since it was stolen, still damaged from my crash, but now missing the drivers seat - still runs and can be driven, only thing stolen was drivers seat. Sorry for the book, but like I said, LONG story.
