Sy Stainless Fuel Tank

I've been working with Ricks Custom Fuel Tanks on making a "factory" style replacement stainless steel tank that bolts in place of the factory tank.

The guy I'm working with says he would need to do a run of at least 25 to make it possible.

So who would want one? This would be for the Syclone for the time being. We may be able to do a Typhoon version later on.

We havent discussed pricing or wait time yet. He said fabbing a prototype would take 6-8 weeks.

If you are interested or serious about purchasing one please post away. I'll try and get the price details worked out by the end of the week.

Here's there link: http://rickstanks.com/

Re: Sy Stainless Fuel Tank

This tank will bolt in factory location and function just as stock tank would but with a welded in baffle. I spoke with Ricks Tanks today and they are attending the LS Fest and I'll be there too so they asked me to bring a factory tank to do a prototype. After that we can get pricing and do a GP.

I'll have to front the cost of the R&D for the prototype tank so I just need to know who would want a Sy tank. This will be a really nice tank that will last a long time and never rust.

Re: Sy Stainless Fuel Tank

do tou have a ballpark figure for the tank, pics of the baffling?

IIRC Rick's tanks with a single pump are in the $1500 range. He does do a nice job but I don't see the need for the expense. I don't think he makes his tanks so you can see the baffling, so I doubt if there are pictures of it

how much extra would it cost to have a sump set up just so you can have it for the future?

The cost won't be anywhere near 1500. We use our existing pump and sender. That keeps cost down. I talked with them at the LS Fest and they said building it shouldn't be a problem.
I'll let everyone know a ball park price once the prototype is made.

Stock size. It's pretty much a stainless steel fabricated and baffled stock tank. It will be indentical to form and function of OEM tank.
