still over boosting

Is this your bush?
Re: still over boosting

Your wideband is bouncing around alot.....maybe it's because it's a aem....my plx does not bounce around like that....I think it's a wastegate issue also.....I run a forge unit and a aem truboost controller....I think the truck runs better with just the forge controlling the system vs. The aem controlling the system.....I always keep an eye on my wide band to make sure I don't run lean.....If I start to I'll let off the throttle.

Re: still over boosting

Had my truck overboosting just fixed it. Timing was way to advanced kept hiting cut off. Now rocksolid. I have no Cat and a thusher muffler thats it. stays right at 15psi.

Re: still over boosting

I wouldn't put it past my timing being way off. A long while back the cap on my distributor decided to break and jammed the rotor up to the point where it got an entire plug off. It twisted the rotor around. God, talk about not running right at all. Backfires out the wazoo.

I need to fix or replace my timing light and check this thing. I've got a whole new billet distributor in the mail plus a new harmonic balancer. Going to install both of those and reset the the timing.

I'll start working a new forge wastegate into my monthly truck budget. Might end up being an xmas present to myself this year. haha.

Re: still over boosting

i had an overboost issue... Ended up being a Fuel delivery/pressure problem... it was going lean and causing aggressive boost spikes, fixed the issue and its solid.... Get the Forge IMO as well... stays solid on boost and wakes it up quite nicely as well

Re: still over boosting

Think I found the main cause of the issue... the turbo to intercooler hose. I put a new one from RPM on and the spiking went away. It'll zip up to ~17 and then fall back to just a hair under the 15 mark on the gauge and just stay there till i let off. No more flutter while under acceleration. Also seems like it's got a bit more power now.

I did a boost launch in it and I haven't been thrown into the seat that hard in a while. Back end kept wanting to bounce around cause of all the power. Its in 2wd atm (t-case is fused 50/50 and i took the propshaft out till i rebuild the case cause i dont want to break another shaft and front diff). next weekend i'm installing a turbotweak chip and the 3bar map. Cant wait to see how it handles under that. If that doesn't smooth the boost issues out completely, I'll start saving for a forged wastegate.
