Sqeaking in the Suspension?

I am new to the Sy/Ty community but had a question, it seems like the truck sqeaks a lot. I mean driving down the road, getting in and out. I am not sure if this means the bushings need to be replaced or just lubed. Is this common on these trucks. I am sure the truck has been lowered and and it looks like the original bushing are in the truck. I am not sure if the sound is coming from the bushings or the shocks. Thanks for your help.

If its the shocks, its the bushings on the shock. Replace the bushings. Its a pain, but you'll be glad you did. Replace them with good ones, like Energy suspension or equivalent. Does the truck seem to be firm in the front, or does it feel squishy and loose driving around?

I heard torsion bar cross support bushings can cause a pretty bad squeak.

Grease the ball joints & tie rod ends, stock rubber bushings don’t usually squeak.

Sway bar bushings can squeak. Fairly easy to remove, grease, and reinstall.

The truck has 84,000 miles.

Vermonty, never having driven a Syclone before I am not sure how it should feel. I was stunned at how hard the tranny shifted and figured it had to have a kit, but having followed this board it appears to be normal for a hard 1-2 shift. The ticking at idle also catches one of guard, but having listened to you guys, it sounds like the norm.

hehe...it will only drive and handle like a 1991 S-10 should; pretty crappy. But, it shouldn't be a chore to keep it pointed down the road, and it shouldn't wander around. Pretty much go drive a normal S-10 of the age. If your Sy handles like that, head to the parts store for some bushings. Mine isn't squishy, and it doesn't wander all over the road. One quick check for me also was seeing how it tracked at high speed. Many say at 100+, things can get out of hand real quick on a truck that isn't planted to the ground well. At 120, I was tracking straight with no shimmies or wandering.
