i went by a scrap yard today and figured this would be a good time to chuck that 20-30 pounds of junk steel riding in the back of my (work) truck. so i pull in and as i'm heav-ho-ing the pieces, i notice a stripped v-6 sitting there. pan's off, no heads, no rods/pistons but upon closer look, lo and behold, it is a 4.3--with cam and lifters in tact. so i talk to one of the schlubs there and for an even exchange, i pull a free set of lifters and guides. not a bad score in my book, especially for free! :tup: not sure of the year, or if it even makes a difference, but i know it was a balanced motor.
