IF we do end up going, we will be leaving New Mexico early like the saturday before Shindig and take the trip nice and slow. We may still get there early like tuesday or wednesday. What's there to do or see in Savannah while we wait for Shindig?

Go on a trolley tour. Downtown Savannah is pretty kick ass actually with the architecture and the history. We went on a quick one on Saturday morning but definitely could have spent many more hours just walking around.

Trolley tour sounds cool. What's the temp going to be like around this time in Savannah? And to answer your question: Nope. Still nothing and I need to rebuild front end on the ty in time for Shindig.

Time before last it was about 95 degrees and 90% humidity. Hood swore the weather is never like that this time of year. Last time it was below freezing. Track was slick like an ice rink. Hood swore the weather is never like that this time of year. Crap shoot.

That's why I'm not a meteorologist.
Typical November weather around here is high 60's during the day and mid 40's at night. Near perfect weather IMO. However, you do have the anomalies that the last Savannah Shindigs (2006 & 2010) have brought.

- Trolley tours. If you want to see a lot of downtown Savannah and learn about it's history and architecture, these are very informative.
- Ghost tours. In October/November these are really popping as Savannah is usually ranked the #1 or #2 most haunted city in the US. They usually offer walking tours (the best if you want the full experience), horse tours, and trolley tours.
- Food. Seafood and Paula Deen.....two more things Savannah is famous for. Both with make you the tastiest meal ever, both with make you fat, but only the latter has exploited her accent and Krispy Kreme donuts to become disliked by her hometown.
- Fort Pulaski. A civil war fort thought to be as impenetrable as the Rocky Mountains until the Union proved that wrong.
- River Street. November is usually a better month to head down there as Octoberfest has ended and it's a much more civil crowd. Lots of bars and restaurants and it all overlooks the Savannah River.
- Tybee Island. Wrong month to enjoy it, but there's a beach, a lighthouse, and some of the best boiled shrimp on Earth (AJ's). Oh, and H-Bomb hunting with me and Adam.
- Racing. Roebling Road Raceway is only 8 miles from the hotel, but it is a private track, so make sure you have a crew pass or you'll be standing outside the fence watching (still nice to do as you can see turn 9, the front straight, turn 1, turn 2, and turn 3. all from one spot).
If you do go downtown, stick to Bay Street, City Market, and River Street unless you're doing a tour. Otherwise, you could wind up off the beaten path and get shot, stabbed or raped. Sadly, the worst of Savannah lies just beneath the glossy veneer of the best of Savannah. Wish I was kidding.
