I want one BAD i have a BRAND NEW Typhoon Block but no Crank and im looking on doing a build this spring..
I have a Set of Oliver Billet I-beam rods for that crank I bought them off a Sprint Car friend..

From what i learned today, these cranks are stock replacements, they are not any stronger then a stock crank (despite what the sales guy and "pro stock" name may lead you to believe). Still made in China just like their rods, etc. Regardless, great price for a brand new crankshaft that still has standard bearing journals. And they have them on the shelf so you dont have to listen to their excuses for months why your custom crank is not done. It's good to know they are available and cost less then a used stock crank with cut journals.
There have been a couple guys who have been using these with good success already. Time to start looking for that company who is making bowtie blocks now (wishful thinking) lol

I am suprised that this is somewhat news to everyone. If I would have known that I would have posted about them a year or so ago when I called them and was going to order one then. When I talk to the salesmen then he had a couple large orders being filled and I always called at the wrong time. Like I said before they did have a couple cut ones for a discounted $. Also order right from them son't go through summit or jegs they jack the $. Glad to hear these things are a good buy though.

I don't see why not. I have an IBS crank in my non-IBS block. Granted, I still took it to get spin balanced, so not sure if they had to mod it much to balance out. As far as journals and dimensions, though. Dead match.

UPDATE.
Well just for shits and giggles I took both of my cranks (stock and scat) down to Castillo Crankshaft Services. I asked him to Rockwell both and prep, nitrate, and cryo which ever one came back as being stronger.
Low and behold, the Scat crank Rockwelled out at 22 and the stock GM crank Rockwelled out at 30.
Just thought I would tell all of you who were interested in this crank and believed Scats bogus 30% stronger BS. More like 27% weaker, maybe that's what they meant ???
When I called Scat and let them know what I found, I was told a few different things. That we already had forged cranks and that maybe I got a bad one :screwy:
I returned the crank and got my money back...

So they tried to give you bs rather then an explanation. Wonderful.
This makes me question the buick crank that is suppose to be forged that a buddy has, and its made by Scat. But they are holding up fine for them. I don't see why this would be any different. :dunno:
