Saving weight with coil overs

No way is it 130 to 150 lbs, I have no clue how Dunstan claimed 130lbs. I measure Dan's stock suspension and it weighted 115lbs. The PEP front coilovers weight 40lbs so it was a weight saving of 75lbs. My JSD coilovers weight 44lbs minus the upper control arm bushings, spacers, sway bar bolts. So I would expect a weight saving of around 70lbs.

i think that if you remove the torsion bar crossmember, you will probably need something to take its place. i know back in the day there was a tubular version you could get from dunstan. i belive waller was one of the few to actually get one. mabe he could post a pic for us.

Most never count the weight of the torsion bar crossmember. I haven't got mine out of it yet, but will weigh it for everyone soon

I didn't pull out the riveted cross memebr brace, so I didn't count it. I did count the torsion bar cross member that the keys and and is isulate by the torsion mount bushings.

Well, unless your making tons of power and going Autocrossing every week, I don't see the need for it. 2wd trucks don't have it, so that's fine with me. Maybe I'll get around to weighing it soon, should give me the lightest Syclone out there :)

don't waste your time with an alum driveshaft get the carbon fiber one from me :) :)... just as strong and no more than $50 more.

and yes I do have a tubular cross member from dustan. that crossmember saved an additional 8-10lbs as the stock one isn't very heavy what it does allow is the chance to weld in the new one as the stock one is rivited and bolted in. allows for a good bit of frame flex.
