S.T.O.R.M. Website

Hello everyone.

After getting some things done and settled into my apartment, I'm about ready to start to scratch out some designs on the S.T.O.R.M. site. What I need from the MI people is what do you want to see on the site now. Nothing technicial now, just visual things. Let me know since I'll be taking notes down while I develop the site offline.

To the other webmasters, I'll be asking you for input for the actual code parts since I am not that up to date with HTML coding. I'm better at VB than HTML.

Let me know what you all want.

Well.... I would like to see a picture gallery, and truck/owner pics. It would be ideal to model it off the NASTE and Chitown websites.

Just my 2 cents

Truckless. For now.
i've got some super simple java for a gallery. it's not as technical as the chitown/naste galleries, but it's super simple to maintain, and looks pretty decent.

Click Here for a sample of the gallery in it's finished form.

Click Here for another example of how you can set up a member section with included gallery.

it takes no time at all to set up. the only part that takes time is resizing photos, depending on what sizes you want to have available for viewing. :)

just let me know if you'd like it, and I can email the html/java file to you.
(thanks to marty and bw customs for the script, btw.)

I;m suprised that no one has posted to this thread, except for two. Makes me wonder if this is even worth my effort...

i've thought the same thing about the MHST website. Sometimes I wonder why I made one. Give it time. They'll come around.

it's just a question of when and how long it takes them to get there. remember, they are driving sy's and ty's.

well back before NASTE even existed, i started Tri-State SyTy, mainly cause I didnt even know Mid Atlantic SyTy existed at the time.

Then when NASTE took off I was sending out PM's and E-mails to people who I saw were located in the area to get them to join. Over time people started finding it on their own, after that I was almost overwhelmed with the amount of work I had created for myself and didnt want anymore members to join, lol.

Now that I finally have a halfway decent layout for the club its much easier to add and remove members as well as updating the rest of the site as well.

It wasnt easy, but there are times I get to sit back and enjoy it. Now I have Eric (smaug) helping me out with things and few other members who help out with organizing events and such. Things are getting better.

The only thing that I can forsee sucking in the future of NASTE is me moving, but nothing is set in stone yet, so we wont get into that yet. :)

Morgan is right I’m sure you get something started and you will have more input than you would like.

Also as far as content what Tim “Syclone#1992” said is a good starting point.
I’m glad to see someone taking this on. Thank You.

So far I got pics of owners vechicles and probably a bio of there truck. Anything else? I know there's more!

BTW, I am going to use the Angelfire site for pics and stuff until I get the code written for the site. Like initial draft of what the site will look like. I haven't even started pencil and paper design yet...

Come spring time.... I will have some updated pics of my truck. I don't have any with the new chromed rims. I will most likely drop it with leaf springs too.

You can check out some of the pictures in the chitown gallery located in my sig.

if you need ideas, go to the NASTE site, the link is in my signature.

go to the Links page on NASTE, there you will see a list of ALL ISTA chapters both national and international. They all have sites except for CATS and Mid Atlantic.

I highly doubt anyone is going to have a problem with you borrowing ideas. Hell, I took TJs member proile information from MHST and changed it into my own, then he saw it and changed his cause he liked some of the catagories I made, then I changed it again just last month :D Its never ending and nothing is written in stone, just HTML, so you can change it whenever you want. Just take your time and chip away at it, you'll get there.

Morgan,

I was looking at the source of the site and I was suprisesd that I seen very little code.

What does meta http-equiv= mean? Like I said, I am a beginner at this. :)

Well, I almost got the inital design done, I'll post it on the Angelfire site. All I gotta do is scan it in and post it.
