RPM LSX engine mounts.

I just got mine...

Passenger side is crooked by 1.5-2.0mm from tab to tab alignment.

Driver side is off by 5.0mm from tab to tab. Strait up looks like it was welded together crooked compared to the base plate that is flush on the block.

I was told "this is how they are".

I've seen other pics where the mounts look like normal engine swap mounts and everything seems uniform and strait... anyone else have RPM mounts that sound like this?

Yeah that's how mine were too. I don't have them anymore because I just shipped them (to LIL QUIK) but I was also told that was how they are.

You would think it would mess up the drivetrain alignment or screwup the trans to crossmember alignment....

Hmmmm

That s how the 4 sets I have used have been as well, they are thin enough metal that they easily contour to the correct angle, just make sure if u use them u set your measurements to make the trans exit straight between the frame rails

I will be installing these in the near future along with their oil pan & their 4L80e LSX trans crossmember. Is there any other helpful info you can pass along to assist in the installation of these mounts & the other parts? This would be much appreciated. I'm still curious about the oil lines ( exactly where to connect to engine) for the remote oil filter since their oil pan doesn't have an oil filter mount like the stock oil pan does. I haven't made it this far yet in my swap, still gathering parts & as much info as I can for when I do proceed.

Re: RPM LSX engine mounts.

The block needs setup like a dry sump and the DS side oil galley needs blocked off front and back behind the covers, then you use the front side oil galley and rear upward angled galley port as feed and return.
I might have some fittings im not going to use id sell if interested, my shortblock came with them installed that i didnt expect.

I found this thread on s10forum .com

Is this what you're referring to?
I would be interested in fittings.
Do you have any pictures of the setup your talking about with the fittings?
Thanks

Re: RPM LSX engine mounts.

Also DO NOT forget to block the 2 holes in the bottom of the block that would normally feed the oil filter gallery in the stock LS pan,if you don't do this there is a very high probability that you will have low oil pressure due to an internal oil leak.

its a pretty straight forward install,if you plan on running the A/C with stock LS coil locations you will need to remove the heater box and cut a relief and glass it back in,if no A/C you will still need to do this mod, just not as severe. The only other mod I recall doing was to cut the pinch weld behind the motor on the body. Cut at the far ends with a cut off wheel then persuade the remaining length with a hammer flat against the body, this will give you much more room to get the trans in and out, don't forget to dress the cut ends so it looks like a finished install and not a hack job

If anyone is interested, the last install I did I found Moroso makes a LS swap pan for the 4x4 S-series with the oil filter in the stock LS location, per their dimensions online it is dimensionally identical to the RPM pan and wouldn't require relocation of the oil filter, may be worth a try..
