Recommended engine settings for new set-up?

I just finished my Ty a couple of days ago, since I got it home it won't accel past 3500 rpm in gear. It will accel normal up to 3000 rpm then start to sputter.I have my timing set at 0,plug gap @ 0.35,I'm using factory plug wires,ACDelco 41-932 platinum plug and stock coil.
Could it be my ignition system causing my problem???
What should I set the fuel pressure @,spark plug gap and timing for my new combo???
I'm replacing the plug wires and the coil today, the only things not new, anything else I should check while I'm at it????

Have you hooked up a scan tool yet? I had false knock(rattle) cause a very similar problem at one point..

ngk tr55 plugs will work. do you have a chip for your new combo? leave timing a 0*. what fuel pump do you have, new fuel filter? you might need a spark booster, like a msd box.

set plug gap to .30-32. fuel pressure i would set at 45psi with vacuum line unplugged. but you will have to fool around with it to keep KR down. get a scan tool.

Re: Recommended engine settings for new set-up?

Installed tech 1 and fuel pressure gauge then went for a ride, under light throttle it appears to be running fine. When throttle is increased boost starts to build normal until it reaches 104-105kPa(15.0-15.2 psi),then the KS kicks in and shuts it down(fuel pressure @ 60 psi).
FP @ idle is 35psi(45psi w/vac line off).
If I have a 2 bar MAP,is it getting more boost than is read by sensor???
I set my wastegate the same way it would be done on stock truck, how should I adjust the arm to take boost out???
Looks like a boost gauge is needed,I'll try to get one Monday.

What chip and what size injectors are you using?? I would recommend you go with a 3 Bar map and a chip made for it. When this happens do you get a check engine light? Sounds like an over boost problem with a factory chip.

Your 2 bar map sensor only works and reads up to 14 psi , higher then that and it doesnt adjust accordingly . Whether it be 15 psi or 25 psi , that 2 bar only sees 14 .

not familiar with the plug PN, but make sure they are for your vortec heads.. the long reach kind.

I would run .028 gap. 2 bar map should be fine with stock chip. dont mess with the wastegate just yet, 15psi should be fine as long as it is not spiking.
