Ran the 1/8 with the new motor today

Made 3 passes at 20 psi today to dial in the launch and tune a little. I cant run over 20 psi because I still have the 255 walbro and it probably will run out of ass and dont wanna pop this new motor. With 25 psi 6.50's should be a breeze. Here is the 3rd pass slip:

60' 1.47
330' 4.35
1/8 6.83
MPH 100.25

Cant wait to give it some boost!

I like how your first 60' with the new motor is exactly the same as your best 60' with the stock one. I was very impressed with what you did with the old motor, looking forward to seeing what you can do with the new one.

wow 1.47 60'!!!

Yeah but I tried to leave the line the same as the old motor the first pass and it was spinning like crazy with a 1.56. Had to back off the launch to 2800 rpm with 6 psi and throw some extra fuel in at 3200 and 3600 to soften the hit of the turbo. I think it might have some more 60' in it.

WOW I dont think it will but who knows. It only about 10.70's right now. My 75#ers are at 85% already too Ed so I'll have to address that situation with the higher boost.

did you use a stock block or a bt block for this build.
hoping you used a bt so you dont find the power limits of a stk block like did.

if its a stock block is it filled aand a mid plate?

Its a stock block and I dont know what mods if any were done to the block except the 4 bolt mains. I would have to ask E and Turbotime they did the motor....if this one pukes I'll put a bt in it.

Re: Ran the 1/8 with the new motor today

I wish you had been there Rod we had a good time. E Rue, SycloneWillie and Scott were there. I told E a few days before that if I ran 100mph+ on 20 psi I would hug him so you know what I had to do :) Was fun outrunning full drag cars. Plans are to do the fuel system, change the governor and crank the boost and make a trip to Farmington to test before the end of the month so I'll let you know the date. If all goes as planned I'll run at Rockingham May 1st.

Quick question as to why the motor upgrade? Did the stocker give way, or did you just want a change of pace?

Re: Ran the 1/8 with the new motor today

I started this project almost a year ago knowing it would take a while and I was really pushing the stock motor. The last pass that stocker made was the 10.93 and it had 155-160 compression when I took it out. I REALLY hated to take it out. That thing made tons of 25 psi passes and like 6 passes with a 40 shot of nitrous.
