Any word on the racing classes yet? Same as last year? Any diffrences? So people can decide what if any mods they want to do before NATS.

Thats a good question. I wanna see who I'm gonna race. And how much more power I gotta make, lol.

Re: Racing Classes?

As of yet I have not seen any recommended changes to the racing class rules.
Patrick heads up the racing, he is Sy769 on .net I believe.

Should be posting some info on the website here soon.

Do you guys see anything from last years setup that needed attention?

I know most of the committee doesn't mingle on the forum much anymore so I can pass on any info/suggestions you may have.

Re: Racing Classes?

Not trying to change any rules just a clarification maybe:

I have a question about the rules as they stand for Super Stock class.

The rules say: "Turbo restricted to 3" inlet." By inlet do you mean the inlet hose size? The GT35bb which is a 61mm turbo comes in both a 3" and 4" intake hose size but otherwise they are the same turbo right? What is the inlet size? Is the inlet the part where the air enters the turbo's vanes (Inside Dia.) or the hose size (Outside Dia.)? Does a 4" GT35BB fit into Super Stock Class? There are so many variations in the compressor covers and their sizes for example you can get a 63mm turbo with a 3" inlet hose size. Please excuse my ignorance for asking but I am stumped on this item.

*Super Stock
*Any tire allowed
*Any suspension.
*AWD
*Any exhaust
*Headers ok
*Turbo restricted to 3" inlet
*Stock or L35 unported heads. Stock size valves.
*SyTy intake manifold
*Stock style internals. Production block with wet sump oiling.
*Any camshaft
*Any intercooler mods or type
*Alcohol/water injection permitted
*NOS not allowed.
*Stock ECM (injector driver mods ok)
*Any chip
*3300# weight minimum with driver. 3600# for Ty
*Ty gets .4 head start

Re: Racing Classes?

In the past the 3" was purely based on the hose connection. This really is a quick way for someone to decide what goes where.

Granted some turbo's may be able to slide in, or slide on the other side and not fit. For example daron's truck right now has a KB bad dog turbo which has a 4" inlet. I know of several 3" ones that are a much bigger better turbo.

If the rules changed to wheel size it becomes harder to measure.

I want to be in the class that is for stock trucks and doesn't have to race mr. duncan.

Ouch...

Back to the topic though,

What balance of performance is measurable between inlet size and impeller?
I can't think of any.

Unless people are just 'trusted' or 'tear-down' rules are followed.
Bleh on the second.

What about "CFM" classification?

I'm probably making this worse...

Re: Racing Classes?

Did anyone decide/confirm what the rules would be for this year? I'm assuming last year's rules will be carried over, but wanted to be sure.
