I'll be ordering the SM Coilovers for stock arms very soon. Shooting for 11's? What's the build? I'm aiming for 11's as well.

havent really thought about how i would like to do it yet.. i know ill need alky.. probly using stock turbo and heads. i already have the turbotweek chip installed and 3bar, adjustable fuel reg and upgraded fuel pump, then other misc things..

For some reason the ty isnt sitting low like it used to before i pulled the leafs out, just curious did the sy/ty have a drop from factory?? ive even tried adjusting the rear shackles by getting them loose and boucing the truck and still im sitting around 1 1/4 higher then i did before.. other thing im thinking is because all the weight is gone out of rear with it being gutted, and other thing the leafs i put in arent saggy like the old ones with 150k miles on them.. any thoughts guys?

I am pretty sure the ty is lowered about 2" as compared to a regular s/t truck.

how did they lower it though threw factory?

edit.. well searching around i found out the factory leafs are lower about 1-2inchs so thats where i gained my height from.. i guess just gonna order beltech 3" drop leafs. found some on ebay for 200 bucks..

edit again.. just ordered some 3" drop leafs off ebay for 190bucks. hopefully they will be here before the weekend

Something to look in to, I'm pretty sure that leafs from a pick up are longer than ones from a 2 door blazer. I know there is something different for sure. Not sure if this is your problem, maybe the shackles aren't letting the springs sit the way they are supposed to.

ive played with the shackles with loosening them... all s10/blazer leafs are the same "besides" the 95+ blazers... the leafs i got came out of a 2000 s10..

well the s10 leafs are longer than the blazer leafsprings i tried putting a rear end with leafs from a blazer in my s10 and the rear end will be about an 1" forward and measured them and they were so had put the s10 leafs on it

as of right now my rear end sits farther back. but its also on blocks

Years ago I swapped bell tech leafs between a p/u and a blazer with no problems. I do kinda remember that the pin is not centered so you have to put them in correctly.

finally got update with parts... everything im waiting on which is coils, leafs, and gauge pod will be here friday!!! its gonna be a fun fun weekend plan is get back done first, btw in process of bleeding breaks and getting interior back in for proper weight, then check how low rear will be so when i do front i can adjust the coils properly to height

id like to give sportmachines a big thanks on getting this shipped to me and such a great deal!! highly suggest them

also got a dual gauge pillar.. ones for boost, ive had the gauge sitting just on the dash and it moves all around so finally picked this up from a syty member for a great price! probly gonna use a wideband for other hole

This was last night with 3" blocks and the 3" drop leafs.. driver sides sits 3/4 higher then passenger side but i think its because front isnt level.. The driver side also rubs with weight on it

so went and picked up some 2" blocks this morning and installed them.. sitting about what it was before which im fine with

doing some searching around and since this is a 92 w/ abs delete i need to mod the proportioning valve.. from factory back is 10psi and front is 2psi.. so if you take a spring out it evens out i guess.. post is at 314 http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f125/2000-sonoma-build-thread-452325/index7.html maybe this explains why i can barley hold 2 pounds of boost anymore from a stop

started the front this morning.. tell you what, those torsion bars did not want to come out.. got the main bracket on frame unbolted first, the unbolted upper control arm from spindal and dropped it down.. still then couldnt get the torsion bars to budge so i ended up cutting them in half which then they slid right out both sides... Drivers side shock came out pretty easy while the passenger side took hour and half since bolt head snapped off on the upper mount, and the rest of the threads were seized in the shock itself and it was nearly impossible to get anything in there to cut the bolt.. But got all that apart and started test fitting the coil on passenger side and i have ALOT of cutting to do, mainly on the upper control arm..

well this update is a bit late.. As of last night the whole front part of frame has been por'15'd.. break calipers all red, new tie tods and sleeves and new bearings. Weather permitting ill be getting a alignment tomorow "monday"..
Again these pics are a bit outta day with no paint on frame, when i pulled it all apart i hammered the shock/spring mount more, and they DO NOT hit at all

You can see how much i had to cut out for clearance.. Would be much easier pulling the arm off but i didnt want to threw my alignment so far outta wack i couldnt drive it to get the alignment so i delt with it and made the grinder fit hah

Overall, I am Extremely satisfied with the coils.. I have drove it around for about 20miles in the area over bumps and just normal driving and the ride is wayyyyyyyy smoother.. No more clunking of bad mounts from torsion bars.. It did take a few times of pulling apart to get the ride height correct and the shocks at the right stiffeness but shes pretty set right now. I highly suggest these for anyone looking to make there suspention solid. I had to order a rear sway bar since the back tires rub pretty good around corners and that will be here this coming week.. All thats left is change oil, clean her up.. GOTO STRIP!!! my battery for laptop also supposed to be here this week so i can get more datamaster logs on and get that boost turned up! wish me luck fellas

BTW: if anyone is interested in more pics i have them, just dont feel like loading them.. I have pics of the coil both ways in the pocket, The way i have it in pictures above seemed to fit best for me

sooooo after the track in new few weeks to get another base time on whats been done so far.. looking for my next round of mods.. I say the budget is around 500ish...things I been thinking bout

like ive mentioned before.. im hoping to alteast hit high 12's with currect setup and boost up to 18... my overall goal for this year is high 11's.. whatcha guys think?

Looks good! How many threads are showing on the bottom off the shock for both sides? Trying to get an idea on how far to go to get my ride height like that when I do the Coilovers.

How does it handle in a hard turn, considerably less body roll?

well i started with 4 thinking they wouldnt sit low enough.. that was a major mistake considering how many turns i had to do with the coil in place, found out its easier dropping the upper balljoint and tierod outta way to get a good clear swing with the tool.. In end i wanna say 22ish threads are showing on each side.

Hard turn is wayyy better, but also i dont have a rear sway bar so the tires rub in rear when turning to hard.. Once i get rear sway bar on i think itll be way better

just got back from alignment.. after kid going out and beating on it which pissed me off and a hour of sitting there it was done.. like i expected the camber got pushed back positive which made it really close to the arch, i can squeeze my fingers between the tire and fender and thats it.. I thought it might rub but from what i have the front coils set at for stiffness she didnt rub and made it home no problems at all!! breaks feel solid also.. Only issue i have now is the drivers side rear sits 1/2inch lower then passenger side and when turning the tire rubs.. Im hoping my sway bar fixes some of that when i recieve it.. Also my battery for laptop came in mail today and thats charging as i type this so some datamaster runs might be done tomorow to see how shes running

Just received sway bar and traction bars.. Sway bar went on easy as pie, the traction bars aren't at a comfortable height for ground clearance so I'm sending them back to summit... Also been putting lots of miles on her working out the bugs.. Even gave my dad a ride and got to giggle on a launch... Saturday if weather is decent and no rain going to get some cam2 and turn up boost.. Track is 1 week away

little update, i sent the cladding to sportmachines and he will be sending it out monday morning and it lots alot better in one peice again haha.. Also been doing alot of talking with eric from turbotweak, hes been checking out the tune and overnighted me another chip to help get her running even better. Also will be at track tomorow morning to get another base run!!!



got rear sway bar in and it fixed alot of the bodyroll and actually handles like a beast now!

yes i know i know, i need to cut the end of the axle to fit the center caps on up front and i need matching lugs..
