finally finally finally got a cowl hood off craigslist. Had to drive up to milwakee for it but one hell of a deal.. Everyone i found previously had holes drilled for hood pins which i hate. This guy had a super clean 1st gen w/ a 383 sbc. talked to him the whole entire hour i spent trying to get the hood in the cavi.. anyways, this is a fiberglass 2" and it mounted better then my stock hood

not a huge update but something is better then nothing..
first off tinted the front windows 20% and took off the old man rain deflectors
2nd, finally got rid of those blue hoses and installed black ones.. i still have alot of details to go threw on this.. more then likely will be buying new wheel wells and have the acc. brackets blasted and coated here soon

since my hood is at paint, figured it was a good time to clean up the motor more.. decided to delete the whole a/c bracket system and add the tensioner on the alt/ps bracket, well when i started that i decided to really go at it and ended up taking the whole upper intake off and whatnot and painted the block and lower intake. Also re-routed alot of wires and coolant lines.. its coming along pretty well i think.
and just for a reminder,this is how the motor looked the day i brought her home..

Deleting that bracket looks very appealing and I'm considering doing it. But, someone on this forum has done this mod and said that the belt was slipping around the water pump because there wasn't enough contact surface. Any thoughts on this?

as of right now, i dont think it slips.. i got a 55inch belt and its pretty tight on there with the tensioner.. I just took it out for a good run and didnt hear any slippage

Thanks! Cant wait to hit the track.. I still have more plans for lightweight parts but need to make the phone calls first.. Next up I'm hoping is front fenders since mine are starting to rot anyways

yay for video!!! had to test out those traction bars, i got them in hopes to fixing my tire rubbing the quarters due to squating, wel that was fixed.. just need to loosen them up to help the spin.. but its also a unprepped road and 15 degress out

The rear already has spacers and if I push them out anymore they will rub the cladding even more

Just a good prep with a scuff pad and some higher quality gloss black spray paint from menards. Holds up fine though, but it doesn't see rain and isn't a daily driver.
I been thinking about painting the inner part of the grille and the bezel housings black but would like the second opinions.. I think it would help break the white up a bit
