Possible 2nd Annual Mn Sy/Ty shindig...

I was sittting in the garage last night looking at the Ty and thinking how much fun it would be to go to the Nationals. However, with the motor in a million pieces and not enough time to get it together and tuned in time I don't think I will be able to make it. I was also dissapointed at not being able to make last years shindig due to work (and my truck being broken).....

I have lots of free time this year, So.........

What dose every one think of a get together this summer?I was thinking about it and came up with a few ideas:

#1 The gathering from last year was on Sept. 20 in Bloomington, Mn. in Valley View Park. Of the people that were able to make it what did you think of the location? I have not seen the park but heard it is a nice spot. Should it be there again?

#2 Car Craft Summer Nationals. There are pluses and minuses to this location though. Car Craft is July 16th through the 18th. The pluses are lots of cars, car clubs, people, food and the possibility of magazine coverage at he event :D . The minuses, it is $45 dollars in advance and $55 dollars or so at the gate for registration, there are alot of people and it is kind of a crowded enviornment.

#3 I have two ideas for #3. There is a park that has a great location and I may sound a bit bias on this one only because it is in Lakeville. Antlers park is very nice and would (I think) be a great spot for a get together.
There are bathroom facilities, BBQ grills, huge shade trees and it is right on Lake Marion. Plus we should beable to park on the grass under the trees for our event. I say should because I have to verify it with our parks director. The first idea would be to just have SyTy'ers only and the second would be to join the local car show in the park (wich is a very nice show) the second week in July.

I don't want to step on any toe's by posting this, I know Mark C. and I think Dan W. put some time into planning the last event along with all the people that were able to make it and make it work.

I think it would be a blast to get together with others, shoot the s#$t and just enjoy the day! Hopefully there can be lots of people and trucks there whear ever there may be. I guess I never realized how many Sy/Ty'ers were in the Minnesota/Iowa/Wisconsin areas and it would be cool to see all of them together!

But like I said just some thoughts and ideas that I came up with last night..

OK, since there seems to be a small ammount of people interested I think just joining up at the Pan-O-Prog car show will be a good idea.

The car show is on Saturday July 10th, registration and set up is at 8:00am and show starts at 9:00am and goes until 3:00pm. I don't remember exactly from last year but I do not think there is a registration fee. This is a fun show with a couple of hundres cars of all makes that show. There is concesion stands, restrooms and shade tree's (that is a plus)

The other idea I had was to run in the cruz on Friday night, July 9th. Registration is at the Lakeville High School at 4:00pm and the cruz starts at 6:45 pm. the cruz is a few miles and circles around the city of Lakeville. Might also be fun to go down town afterword if anyone is interested. Lots of beer, live bands and so on.
